SOME MOCKED

"AND WHEN THEY HEARD OF THE RESURRECTION OF THE DEAD, SOME MOCKED, while others said, “We will hear you again on this matter."
Acts 17:32 (NKJV)
Comment: A lot of people who belong to other religions of the world, atheists, and the agnostics disputed the virgin birth of Jesus Christ and His resurrection. The Athenians at the top echelon of the society, the Areopagites, dismissed the words of Paul because he talked about the resurrection of Christ Jesus (Acts 17:22-32).
People from other religions are still doing that today, as the Bible says, the way of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing: "FOR THE MESSAGE OF THE CROSS IS FOOLISHNESS TO THOSE WHO ARE PERISHING, BUT TO US WHO ARE BEING SAVED IT IS THE POWER OF GOD" (1 Corinthians 1:18).
The resurrection of Christ Jesus distinguishes Him from other religion leaders of the world. Because He lives, His name works wonders. If Jesus was still in the grave or tomb His name would have been impotent or powerless. The resurrection that was an absurd to the Athenians, is the key, the core, of Christianity that differentiate It from other religions of the world.
The Word of God is potent enough to save and transform a person's life, thus, It should not be despised: "FOR SINCE, IN THE WISDOM OF GOD, THE WORLD THROUGH WISDOM DID NOT KNOW GOD, IT PLEASED GOD THROUGH THE FOOLISHNESS OF THE MESSAGE PREACHED TO SAVE THOSE WHO BELIEVE" (1 Corinthians 1:21 NKJV).
The Word of God cannot but produce results, even some among the Areopagites still embrace and heeded the Word preached by Paul (Acts 17:34).
IF you have not given a place to Jesus' Word in your heart, you would do well to take the steps now:
1 WE THEN, AS WORKERS TOGETHER WITH HIM ALSO PLEAD WITH YOU NOT TO RECEIVE THE GRACE OF GOD IN VAIN. 2 FOR HE SAYS: “IN AN acceptable time I have heard you, AND IN THE DAY OF SALVATION I HAVE HELPED YOU.” BEHOLD, NOW IS THE ACCEPTED TIME; BEHOLD, NOW IS THE DAY OF SALVATION" (2 Corinthians 6:1,2 NKJV). Peace.
