Caring less about her old bones and waning health, the aged lady sat beneath the scorching sun to express her grievances in front of her porch, after trudging over.
She seemed to have had enough of those heartless people who had come over like always to cheat her. Her wrinkled face could not even hide her pain and frustrations at the moment.
‘Oh goodness!’ rubbing her temples, she'd lamented to herself, and that beneath her breath since there was no one she would even tell what had happened to her.
She had gone towing the cart all day, under the unfriendly weather just to earn a few bucks. All she wanted to do was shower off the sweat, count her savings, eat and get some rest, but all these seem to be laughing at her face right now.
Upon entering her little abode, the whole place was disorganized! Those pesky burglars had eaten her meal; her hard earned savings were gone too!
On occasions, the petty thieves in the neighborhood would get into her home to steal from her. No matter how well she locked the doors or hid her money, they would definitely take from her and damage a few things along in the house.
Reporting to the authorities about it had proved futile. ‘how could they be so inconsiderate….’ she thought. Everyone in the neighborhood is well aware of the old lady living in the house behind the farm, yet these people would come to do her this injustice!
It was yet another day for her to go to bed on an empty stomach.
