After the fire had subsided, the lion, as the supreme leader of the jungle, called all the animals to an urgent meeting on the riverbank.
-Comrades -said the lion from the highest rock- the fire has subsided, but tomorrow they will surely produce another bigger one, and the man will not stop until he finishes off the snakes.
-And what should we do? -asked the cachicamo from a tree trunk.
There was an uncomfortable silence; everyone looked at each other in the eyes, even the snakes were under water, and a decision had to be made quickly.
The fox did not hesitate to speak up:
-I propose that we give the snakes to the man, send the parrot to his house and tell him to come quickly, so that when they come out of the water they can grab them and kill them.
-Silence -said the monkey from a branch, -there comes a snake.
-Shut up, you fool -said the hyena -it's not a snake, it's a viper, and vipers are not poisonous, they are not sought after.
-That's right -said the snake -the issue is not with us, who the man is looking for is those beasts.
-But they are also our neighbors, don't you think it's cruel that we hand them over? -said the wise owl -the God of animals can punish us.
-Bah! -said the snake -let's not be sentimental, let those who agree with warning the man raise their paws.
And the decision was almost unanimous, only the owl and the lion voted against.
When the snakes came out of the bottom of the river, the man was already there with special nets and caught them all.
-Thank you, animal brothers -said the man with a strange smile- while the screaming snakes were taken away in the net:
-Help, help, please!
The next day the snakes were released in a special space for them, fed and cared for with great care so that they would produce a lot of poison and thus the pharmaceutical company would make antidotes against their bites. In this way there would no longer be problems with snake bites in other jungles of the world.
The next day the jungle burned again, everything would be converted into a large tourist park, this time no one was saved, since the man entered fearlessly to the bottom of the jungle, because there was no one to fear.
Moral: He who does wrong, does badly.
