Title: The Discharge of the Construct of Sports and Self Development: A Trip to Transformation
Introduction |
---|
In the society saturated with stress, anxiety and constant striving for success people tend to turn to personal development activities and sports. These disciplinarian fields have the potential to modify not only the physical self but also the psychological aspect of the human being thereby producing the ‘new better you’. As for the major points of discussion in this article, we will focus on some of the personal observations and experiences we have acquired while applying the sports and growth promoting techniques. This is why we have shared our success stories on this site, in order to encourage other people to start their own journey in the world of self-development.
This paper focuses on the experiences of personal growth of martial arts.
Martial arts has had a very central role to play in my self change and development process. I believe that I only gain a deeper insight toward self-discipline restraint, and respect as well as humility only when I joined martial arts.

Initially a war of attrition, cramming proved far more challenging than actual battle. Amidst the odds, I doubted my ability to keep on focused and work hard in a discipline in order to change for the better. Only in such a period of struggle that I learned what hard work were and what focused determination is.
But in martial arts, one is made to confront one’s fears out rightly. The daily practice of martial arts starts with stepping onto the mat for sparring, or performing new techniques that are not easy to handle, so every task we try ultimately helps us to grow.
When one feels as if the the limit is being extended, it is a good thing because it helps understand that one has strength one can not imagine. My own experience of practicing martial arts has made me understand that once one is ready to do the work, gives commitment, then the man is capable of having whatever he wants.
Running: Why does the path to inner peace and self discovery matter? |

To me, running has always served as quite possibly the most effective methods of healing and transformation. It is an activity for which they provide comfort in hay times and can tell the contents of a person’s heart and spirit.

In relation to the long runs, I have noticed that I think so much, ponder over accomplishments in my life and even brainstorm over surmountable issues I encounter. The physical tiredness I experience after every running exercise is similar to the exhaustion I feel in my normal day by day activities to help me channel out my thoughts and emotions in the right manner.
Running helps one feel happy from within, real happy, a peaceful happy within, as the very act of running makes you more at peace with yourself. My mind wandering as my physical self sways with my breath, the rest of the global noise fades off and I am at ease. It becomes useful in other areas of my life; it helps to clear head and keep me better centered.
Perhaps one of the richest concepts in running is the ability to question all that we believed to be possible. Every time I strap my running shoes, I look back at the countless number of times that I have stepped out of my comfort box and find myself connected with my physical and mental self in a way that inspires me and at the same time makes me realize how small I am.
The Growth That Accompanies Cycling |
---|
Not only has increasing physical strength, balance and endurance become physically exposed to me, but also personal skills like self identity, flexibility, and perseverance.
As with anything that is new, learning how to ride a bicycle may be tough and scary at first. However, every time I tumbled, I became more muscular, assertive and more dedicated to becoming a cycling’s champion. This is the budding that is usually associated with new challenges that one has to face in life; only to find that inside there is still so much to overcome.
Cycling can be one of the most paring experiences because it allows us to get lost and focus only on the moment and the machinery under us. The repetitive nature of cycling, the accompanying music, the technical sound that the wheels give off when rolling on the road – and the swaying sensation of movement – all of this is highly calming.
Or maybe cycling became a way of finding out who I was and what I wanted to do. While cycling through the different terrains and dealing with hurdling I have been able to learn how to cope and even thrive in uncomfortable and confusing situations personally and professionally.
