Easy and Fulfil Recipe for Samosa Rolls

Samosa rolls are a tasty snack which can be taken any time during a day or as a special festive meal. I decided to take you through the process I undergo every time I am preparing samosa rolls from the scratch today. This is not only an easy recipe, but also everyone enjoys it.

Ingredients

For the Filling:

Chicken (boiled and finely shredded): 250 grams

Potatoes (boiled and mashed): 2 medium

Onion (finely chopped): 1 medium

Green chilies (finely chopped): 3

Fresh coriander (finely chopped): 2 tbsp

Salt: to taste

Black pepper: 1 tsp

Red chili powder: 1 tsp

Cumin (toasted and crushed): 1/2 tsp

Garam masala: 1/2 tsp

Garlic ginger paste: 1 tsp

Oil: 2 tbsp

For the Dough:

All-purpose flour: 2 cups

Salt: 1/2 tsp

Ghee or butter: 2 tbsp

Water: as needed

For Assembling:

Spring roll sheets (store-bought or homemade): as required

Egg (beaten): 1

Oil (for frying): as required

Instructions
  1. Prepare the Filling:

  2. Preheat frying pan and fry onions when they are in chopped form until they turn light golden.

  1. Add the garlic ginger paste and fry till the aroma comes out.
  1. Put the boiled chicken and gold green chilies firstly, followed by cumin, salt, black pepper, red chili powder, garam masala. Mix well.
  1. After 4-5 minutes, add the mashed potatoes and chopped fresh coriander.
  1. Mix everything well and allow the dough to cool wholly before using.
Prepare the Dough (if making at home)
  1. In a large bowl, sift the flour and baking powder, add salt and melt the ghee or butter.
  1. Slowly mix the water gradually and then work the mix into a soft and easily manageable dough.
  1. Keep the dough in the tray, cover it with a wet towel and leave it to ferment for 20 minutes.
  1. Take small portions of the dough and shape out a ball Then, spread each ball and roll them out in thin rectangular shapes to get spring roll wrappers.
Assemble the Rolls
  1. Uncle one spring roll sheet on a clean working top and spoon about one to two tablespoons of the filling to one side of the sheet.
  1. Fold the sides inward and roll it tightly to make it very neat at the same time.
  1. Use beaten egg to cover the edge of the roll so that it does not open while frying.

Fry the Rolls
  1. Heat oil in a large flat frying pan.
  1. Deep fry the rolls on medium heat until warms and has brown and crispy color.
  1. Digit: Put the fried rolls on paper towels so as to eliminate much of the grease.
Serving Suggestions

These samosa rolls should be served hot or crispy to accompany green chutney, tamarind sauce or ketchup. It is important to note that these rolls are ideal for taking with tea in the evening or after breaking the fast in the evening, or as a first course on a special occasion.

Tips

For a crispy outer texture, the rolls should be frozen for 15 – 20 minutes before it is deep fried.

In this recipe the filling can be enriched with vegetables, cheese, or spices that are desired.

Leftover rolls had to be placed in the freezer and reheated by frying.
