My Love,
Happy Birthday, my heart’s eternal joy! Today is such a beautiful reminder of the day God breathed His life into you. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11). You’ve not just been a blessing to me but to everyone who’s touched by your warmth, your kindness, and your relentless strength. Every day, I thank God for writing a love story in which our paths crossed. His timing, as always, is perfect.
You’ve taught me so much about love. Your laughter has become the sunrise to my days, and your quiet strength reassures me in the stormiest of moments. I often think of Shakespeare, who wrote, “A heart to love, and in that heart, courage, to make love known.” You embody that courage. You’ve never been afraid to show me the depth of your care, the sincerity of your soul. How did I get so lucky to have someone who just gets me?
When I think about how far you’ve come, I’m reminded of the great explorers and dreamers of our history: you face life the way they faced uncharted waters—with hope and bravery. I see in you the resilience of David against Goliath and the ambition of those who dared to build something out of nothing. And you’ve built so much for yourself, for us, for this world—you inspire me every single day.
Birthdays are a time to celebrate who you are, but also a time to dream of all that is to come. “Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you” (Psalm 143:8). I want this verse to mark your year ahead. Trust that wherever life takes you, God is present, guiding your steps, laying blessings at your feet.
I think about love like the poets do, as a consuming fire. Rumi once wrote, “The moment I heard my first love story, I began looking for you, not knowing how blind that was. Lovers don’t finally meet somewhere. They’re in each other all along.” And that’s what I feel, my love—we didn’t stumble upon each other like some lucky accident. You were carved out for me by some greater divine hand, and I for you.
Take this day to celebrate you, the man who stole my heart with his kindness, patience, and goofy, lovable self. Remember what Mark Twain said, “The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why.” I know you already live with purpose, but I hope this year will bring even more clarity, more joy, more reasons for your heart to feel full.
Thank you for being my safe place, my adventure, and my everything. Thank you for showing me that home is not a place, but a person. I will celebrate you every single day—not just on your birthday—because you deserve that kind of love.
I love you beyond words, and I pray that “the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him” (Romans 15:13). You have my heart, today and always.
With all my love, forever and always,
The one meant to be but got away...
