The Blessedness Of Applied Knowledge

samminator -

The knowledge you have may be good, but it is not all that is required for you to live a successful life but the ones that you have applied. You may know something even better than a lot of people, but if you do not practise it, then the profit will not come. For example, if you have the theoretical knowledge of what swimming is and all the principles of aquadynamics, it may not save you when you enter inside the water, but the swimming in practical is what will save you. As you acquire knowledge, also know that its application is very important.

When I was in secondary school, there was this particular student who always had an idea for almost everything. In fact, we used to call him Einstein because of his level of knowledge. However, there was this particular exam which we took and we already concluded that he would take the top result. Ironically, he was not even in the first page when the names were published. He was devastated by the result, so he decided to petition the exam board to know why he performed that way. Even the other students supported him because they all knew his capacity.

He sent his petition for a review and when they brought out his answer sheet and then the question paper, they discovered where he was wrong. In the instruction at the top of the page of the question paper, it was required for them to answer 4 questions out of the 7 questions, and question number one was compulsory. He just saw the "answer 4 questions" and then answered from 2 to 5, omitting the compulsory first question. He had knowledge of what he was writing and even answered them excellently well, be he did not apply it very because he failed to follow instructions. This was what disqualified him from having the kind of result that he desired.

When acquiring knowledge, you need to also know how to apply it. Not just applying the knowledge but doing it rightly. If you know what to do and how to do it, but refuse to do it, you will not receive the reward of doing it, rather you will not be indistinguishable from the rest of others who do not know. More often than not, it is not your knowledge that it rewarded but what do you do and the result you get from it. Of course, the result is a function of the actions you have taken. If a farmer knows what to plant but does not plant any seed, he will not get the result of harvest.

In addition to applying the knowledge you have, you need to also apply it rightly. If you apply actions on your knowledge and do it wrongly, it will not bring you the desired result. For example, just like the case of the farmer that I earlier mentioned; it is one thing to plant the seed but it is a whole different thing to plant it rightly in the right farm requirement. Even the right knowledge that is applied wrongly will not have a future. You do not get the right result when the methods you have used and the route you have taken are all wrong. So let the right knowledge be applied in a right manner so that it will deliver rightly.

Lastly; your right knowledge, even though it is done rightly, also has to be done at the right time. When you delay what you should have done unnecessarily, when you later decide to do it, even though it might be the right thing, it may have lost its potency. This is why knowledge needs to be applied rightly and at the right time. You will be surprised that the longer you take to act on the knowledge you have acquired, the less potent the potential result will be. This is because the knowledge may have started going into obsoletion or may need upgrading and you are acting on an obsolete knowledge that would have needed an upgrade. It is when you have done what you need to do by acting rightly at the right time on the knowledge that you have acquired that you will be ready to achieve the result you desire.
