Love For All; Love For Humanity

There is nothing as strong as love
These are the words that were once said by one of my friends who is a counsellor. Of course, true love is what humanity should be hinged on. There are many ills in the world that would not be if people have love in their heart for their fellow humans. Take this instance; if you love your neighbour the same way you love your own self, you will not plan evil for them, you will not plot their downfall, and you will wish them well. But when there is an absence of love, there will be so much vices in the society. This is why I advocate for love to be spread in our hearts.
Even in relationships for example, love is the basis on which the relationship is sustained. Obviously, you will be faced with some offences and other things that will want to make you angry, but because love comes with tolerance, sacrifices, forgiveness, you will let it go. A lot of people complain about the so much cruelty and wrongs that are witnessed in the world, and they wish for the world to get better. However, one thing to know is that for the world to get better, everyone; including you, will have to pay their own part - and this begins with love. Even when you want to correct someone for their wrongdoings, it should be based on love.
You must not wait for humanity to love you first before you reciprocate back the love. Your own love can come first and watch how beautiful the world will be. There is an inner peace and joy that comes when your mind is free from offences for anyone and when you know that you wish people well from your heart. Now one may ask how to know when you have love in the heart? Very simple: when you treat others as you would treat yourself, then it is an expression of love. Obviously, you will not want to treat yourself badly, so you do not have to treat others badly.
Furthermore, love can be substantiated by your acts of giving. There is no way you can convince yourself that you love someone if you find it impossible to give anything to that person. Giving may not only be limited to material or physical things; you can give emotional support, you can give advice, assistance, directions, etc. The truth is that no matter your current level and where you are at the moment, you can give if you want to. Giving is not a function of what you have or the size of your account or wallet, but a function of the heart. If your heart is full of love, your hands will follow suit.
Imagine if you are in a relationship and your partner claims to love you but has not done any single act of giving to you, how will you even know that they love you? It is true that there may be many reasons why people give, but love is among the principal reasons. More so, you may give without having love - that is for other selfish reasons like to get something in return or to find favour, but you cannot love without giving. You will agree with me that your heart will always be drawn towards the person you love and you will want to do good to them.
It is so sad that at this present time and in the world today, the concept of love is almost going into oblivion. This is why you will see people channelling the love they should have for their fellow humans into material things. Instead of loving people and using material things, the reverse has almost become the order of the day - now a lot of people love material things and then use their fellow humans in their bid to acquire such things. It is worth noting that everyone knows when they have love and when they are cruel. So you do not need the validation of anyone to tell you that you have love for humanity.
One should also know that love is far much different from lust. While the former focuses on selflessness and what others will gain from you, the latter focuses on selfishness and what you will gain from others only. You may not have the whole world but if you have a heart for humanity, then you will not have any problem showing charity to people.
