Life Is An Individual Exam, Face Your Question

There was a particular exam that I once sat for, which was very different from the exams I have written. In this exam, every candidate had a different question and a different number, even though it was the same course. After writing the exam, one of the candidates, who did not realise that everyone had a different question, felt so disappointed at herself because she copied the answers from her neighbour's answer sheet thinking that everyone had the same question. She only realized that they were different after she had submitted. Which was already an express failure for her. This same thing also happen when you try to copy or be like others without even knowing their strength and weakness and they meet untold difficulties.
You have to understand that every human has a different destiny and of course, a different pathway to it. More so, what works for someone may not work for you and vice versa. Your weakness may be some other person's area of greatest strength, and your strength may also be a big weakness for them. When you understand this, you will not be moved to compare yourself with others, rather you will focus on yourself. That someone has already arrived at their destination should not mount pressure on you - after all you may have a dissimilar journey in life.
It does not take the same number of time for a tomato seed and a cocoa seed to mature and bring fruits even though they are both agricultural products, but it does not mean that the cocoa will not produce eventually. You are doing well, so do not allow anyone to make you feel otherwise. People may provide motivation to you to take steps, but do not allow them to pressure you into fashioning your life after their own. Their standards should not become your own, because both of you may even be embarked on an opposite journey in life. You cannot win in your own race if you are running in another athlete's track.
A few years ago, a particular fashion trend made its way into the place where I stayed because of a celebrity that they saw with the fashion. The point is that the clothes, which were used were designers, which were beyond the reach of a lot of people, yet they had to stretch themselves just to able to afford it. In fact, some even went borrowing just to be able to get it. They thought that by wearing it, they will feel belonged. Now fast-forward to this present time, the fashion has lost a sense of worth as time went by, and everyone saw that it was not even worth it. Now Imaging the people that did unimaginable things just to be able to afford it just because they want to be like someone else. I am sure some of them are already wishing they never did.
If you want to join someone in their lifestyle, you may put yourself into unnecessary tension and pressure. Life is actually simple when you are moving on your own lane. There are areas you have strengths, then you need to consolidate more on them, instead of forcing yourself to your areas of weakness and not doing well in them. Imagine if Leo Messi, who is a football legend, tries to switch over to basketball, considering his height inadequacies, he will struggle and will not even do well. But as long as he focuses on his area of strength, he rose to become among the greatest footballers that has ever existed. When you channel your energy on becoming a better version of yourself instead of copying someone, then you will discover the beauty of living.
You may take steps and may even make mistakes, but just learn from them and keep making attempts. Remember that no one was born with perfection - everyone who achieve success or perfection in a particular field had to put in works and sacrifices and they never stopped trying. If they can achieve success, then nothing stops you from achieving yours. Even if no one has done what you want to do in your field, nothing still stops you from being the first to do it.
