Do Not Worry, Just Act

samminator -

A lot of people are so ladened with the thoughts of "what if, what if" that they have refused to take any action towards their goals or dreams. The truth is that, no matter how much you worry and no matter what you worry about, the challenge will not be fixed by just your worries, rather you will be sapped of the required strength to go about the demands of day. Adorably, most of the things that you worry about do not later manifest because they are just creations of your mind. Instead of being over-burdened, why not act towards your dreams? Worries do not solve any problem.

There is nothing that is tiring and negatively impacting as worrying. Among other things, what worrying does is to paint life generally as being negative. Of course, when you perceive life as being negative, you will also get negativity from it. It is how you have positioned your mind and mentality towards life that will determine what you will take out of life. You have to understand that thinking and worrying are very far apart and dissimilar. While thinking may be constructive and can lead one to creating solutions, worrying is simply destructive and can prevent one from seeing the solution even if there is.

I remember when one of my friends was worried about a particular exam in the course of her professional certification. She is an accountant and needed to undertake an exam which is organised by the body in charge. Before then, one of her friends wrote the same exam and failed it, so it made her to be worried so much that she might also fail it. To complicate the matter, the body in charge increased the price of the exam, so writing it and failing would mean losing a huge some of money. This made her to be so worried and she started to lose weight. It began to tell on her and you can see it visibly from her.

She had already registered for the exams before her friend told her about her own result, so it was impossible for her to defer the exam. They normally give candidates a few months to prepare for the exams, but she has already spent part of them worrying. When she came to me and told me about her worries of failing the exam, I quickly told her about many others who passed excellently at their first attempt. This boosted her confidence. I told her that her worries will not solve the problem, rather she should act by getting past questions and studying extensively. This was how she converted her worries to motivation. She got some past questions and began an extensive study.

A few days to the exam, she was already confident that she will pass the exam because she already covered about previous 10 years past questions. She sat for the exam and adorably, she excelled even beyond expectations. All these were possible because she was able to leave her worries and acted. If she had continued with her worries, it would have prevented her from taking any action and this would have made her to fail. This is just to tell you how devastating worries can be. Each time you start to worry about something, you should counter it with actions.

It is worthy to note that more often than not, worries and fears are mutually related. Worrying can easily lead one to fear and it can impede one's advancement. What you should know is that after worrying and what you worried about did not happen, then you have wasted your time worrying in vain. Then if what you worried over later happened, what it means is that your worries are multiplied.

There is nothing to gain from worrying over what you do not have control of, rather it amplifies the challenges before you. The truth is that you will be faced with a lot of challenging situations, but the solution will not be gotten through worries but by taking actions. Instead of worrying in vain over what you have little or no control of, it is better to channel the energy and strength towards changing what you can. The result you seek is not a function of worrying but a function of taking actions. When you understand that, it will help you to do more and worry less.
