As a girl who went to a Boarding school in my Country Nigeria, Bully was a normal Phenomenon I experienced so many times from Senior Students. We were given so many inhuman treatment from these seniors but I'm glad all these are in the past. I could remember vividly crying and telling my mom that I was tired of my School and wanted to change school. These Seniors subjected us Juniors to all sorts of hard labor such as Manual Labour, intense flogging, Washing dirty toilets for weeks, washing Senior Students clothes, lying on bare floor etc.

In your language, What Have you learned about bullying? And give an example of anti-bullying that is applied in your country or around you. (2 points)

I would be using English to explain bullying because it's the Official Language in my Country Nigeria. Bullying can be defined as the act of constant use of violence or threat in an act to intimidate or harm someone.

Forms of Bullying

Bullying is an act that can be seen in different forms and some of them includes.

• Physical Bully

This type of bullying comes in form of using physical violence to intimidate or cause harm to others.

• Verbal Bullying

This is the act of using words or language to insult and cause damage to someone.

• Cyber bullying

This is the act of using the Internet to Bully someone. It can come in the form of sending harmful message, Video or releasing sensitive things online.

• Emotional Bullying

This is the act of using behaviors that abuse and humiliate someone.

• Sexual Bullying

This is the act of non- consensual sexual behavior or language towards someone.

Effects of Bullying

Bullying can cause so many consequences and some of them includes.

• Emotional damage

Bullying can has serious emotional trauma on victims.

• Depression

Most victims are usually withdrawns, feels sad, worthless, hopeless, and useless.

• Low self esteem

It can equally cause individuals to lose their self confidence and see themselves very low.

• Truancy

Students experiencing bullying can start skipping School just to escape bullying.

• Physical damage

In extreme case, victims can get physical injuries or die.

• Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

Some victim mostimes finds it quite hard to relate and trust adults.

Ways of Preventing bullying

• Anti bullying policies

Anti bullying policies should be created in various Schools and offenders should be punished according.

• Encourage Conflict resolution

Students should be taught how to resolve conflicts amicably amongst themselves without involving harm.

• Self defence

People should be taught how to stand up and defend themselves in the case of bully.

• Awareness programs

People should be educated on Bully, highlighting the effects and how to eradicate it.

Anti bullying Measures applied in my Country Nigeria

• The Child Right Act 2003

My Country has a Legal protection which is very keen on shunning and eradicating bullying. This act ensures that Schools is a free Learning center for every Child.

• National Policy on Education

This Policy ensures prevention and managing bullying in Schools. It ensures that every child is respected and feels safe in School.

• Non- Governmental Organisations

So many NGOs in Nigeria are working round the Clock to ensure that bullying is a thing of the past in Schools.

• School-based measures

Many Schools has set out clear rules against bullying and offenders are punished accordingly.

Make an anti-bullying Poster or infographic with the creativity you have, complete with the steps to make it and the meaning of each image you make. Originality is the main thing of assessment.

So I already had my plain sheet and pencil.
I started by drawing the Bully victim.

So this Bully Victim is a student, you can see him carrying his books. He experienced bullying and today he has find his voice back and his preaching the message of Shunning Bullying.

The next thing I did was to draw circles with forms of bullying written on them. The Circle is pointed towards the students who experienced all this forms of bullying and is speaking out.

The drawing was a bit dull and I decided to make it colourful by using my red and blue pen to do some shading.

This was what it looks like after.

I finally wrote stop bullying with my username.

Write your campaign message against bullying, using your language.

Bullying is like a timed bomb which blows up the Victim, is like a Shadow which follows the Victim everywhere casting darkness and fear. It's like a Scar which leaves an indelible mark on the Victim. We can do better. As a senior students, learn to correct younger ones with love, Understanding, Patience and care. And to you the Bully victim learn to speak up! Defend yourself, fight for your self and report cases of Bully. And to you my dearest one who is a Victim of bully, you will heal from this Torture, remember to take it easy on yourself. Together we can make our Schools Comfortable for learning.

#Bully might have a voice but ours is Louder.
