Hi all. This time I created a post to answer several questions regarding business ideas. Of course, this is an opportunity for us to make explanations regarding the business that we have, are or will run. OK, I'll just explain what I need to say.
Question #1- Are you planning to start a business or already in business?
Involvement in business was the choice I made. Currently I have managed a business in the service sector. We named Tutoring Top Master. A business involved in the world of non-formal education. We move beyond formal education levels such as schools. The service we provide is helping children learn. Services provided range from learning to read, writing, arithmetic to helping with problems learning the main school subject matter. Our business has been established since 2014. Considerations for establishing this business are opportunities for development, a fairly wide market share, and the ability to manage a business in the education sector. I graduated from a college in the field of education and have worked in the same field for 10 years. After deciding to retire at the age of 40, I took the initiative to develop this business. Starting with just a wife who always supports us, we started it and until now we have had various ups and downs and problems. After the Covid 19 pandemic, it started to grow again by adding 4 teachers. Economically, this business has helped family life. Apart from that, we also feel happy because this business can help other people. Consumers will feel helped by increased learning abilities or academic achievement. Parents' satisfaction when they see their children become good at reading, writing and arithmetic so that they are ready to enter education at the elementary level. Satisfaction is also seen when the test results are good.
We were also happy when we found out that our existence could also open up job opportunities
Question #2- Keeping in mind that you can start your business alone or on a partnership basis, what is your idea of your business model?
As I mentioned earlier, setting up this business yourself. After discussing with my wife, we agreed to set up a business in the field of non-formal education. We strengthen our intentions with the existing capabilities both financially and management to run this business. As an individual business, we have to do all our needs ourselves. This means that all the capital needed comes from ourselves. We used the savings we collected while still working at the company and our severance pay to build buildings, provide facilities ranging from chairs, whiteboards, promotions, to printing learning modules and other needs. Apart from that, we have to fight ourselves to provide customer satisfaction or increase the number of customers. Before there are other teachers to help, my wife and I have to work hard. We do all the work ourselves. Starting from sweeping, mopping promotions to teaching students. In the morning my heart must. wake up early to clean the classroom and personal matters such as showering and having breakfast, then I continue to promote to schools by distributing brochures, or presenting in class with the permission of the principal. I treat various obstacles as challenges to be resolved. I did all this because I realized that without hard work the business would stop. Study hours at our place are 90 minutes per session. We start teaching from 14.00 to 20.00 which is divided into 4 sessions. There are two rooms that we use as classes so that my wife and I can teach in the available space. As the number of students increases, we recruit a number of teachers to teach and we are grateful that today many are still able to survive.
Question #3- Keeping in mind partnership businesses have both advantages and disadvantages, what is your idea of your business model?
Advantages of the firm form of business.
In my opinion, ideally, a business in the form of a firm will provide balanced responsibilities. All parties who join will contribute equally to both capital and managerial work. Firm governance will provide the opportunity to work with full responsibility. With good cooperation, no party feels disadvantaged because work and capital are proportional. Working in pairs will also provide more ideas because business owners will provide bright ideas for developing the business. Another advantage of the firm form is that there are more opportunities to increase capital by adding work partners. This will add strength in increasing productivity. Increasing productivity will increase the development of a business.
Disadvantages of firm form companies
The first weakness is the risk of loss or debt which will take capital from all partners. If the company goes bankrupt or has debts, personal wealth will be used to cover the company's losses Another disadvantage is that the large number of ideas will mean that decisions cannot be made immediately. If partners cannot understand each other and impose their own ideas, it has the potential to hinder business progress
Question #4- You are in a business now and doing well; let's know what your plans are and what efforts you are making to expand your business for the long term. Will you do it on your own or hire professionals? In developing the business for the next five years, there are several steps that we will develop.
1. Open a branch in a place that can be controlled
By adding branches, it is hoped that it will increase results and benefits.
2. Increasing promotions
various promotional media, both offline and online, will be able to help increase business
3. improving work professionalism through coaching
Workers must be given coaching, training and rewards and reinforcement to support performance.
4. develop similar businesses
The education sector opens up opportunities to expand into other sectors, such as skills training courses that can be developed more widely With these steps, it is hoped that in the future we will be able to improve results.
