I support Ukraine, but conscription should be put in the dustbin of history. This move seems counterproductive. The Ukrainian diaspora generates remittance payments to Ukraine. This will probably make it much less likely some Ukrainian men return to the country, which was already a looming problem before all of this.
Hopefully their current host countries accommodate them in reflection of these new circumstances.
I know war is fought by warm bodies, but people need to consider marginal effects. People that want to avoid conscription abroad probably are going to find ways to renounce Ukrainian citizenship at this point. And Ukraine needs an economy just as much as soldiers.
