Hello everyone, nice to meet you all here.
First of all, let me introduce myself. My name is Apichat Buathong. I live in Photharam District, Ratchaburi Province. My hometown is in the southern part of Thailand, but I have been working in Bangkok since I was 16 years old and have a family in Ratchaburi Province. I have two daughters. The older one is a pastry chef working at Hilton Garden In Bangkok Silom. The younger one is studying for a bachelor's degree at Kasetsart University, Kamphaeng Saen, third year. I have one granddaughter who is the daughter of my wife's younger sister, whom I have raised since she was 3 months old. She currently lives with me. She only stays with her parents on Saturdays and Sundays because her parents work in Bangkok and come back home to Ratchaburi once a week. So I have to be the guardian to drop her off and pick her up from school every day.
My family has set a goal that every year around November, we will go on a trip together once. We will stay overnight and do activities together. I want to take my parents with me, but they don't like traveling because they are old and tired from walking. But I will compensate by taking them out for dinner at least once a month because my older daughter comes back to see me once a month. We will take this opportunity to eat together. Sometimes it's a barbecue restaurant, sometimes it's a restaurant, depending on what my parents want.
This year in November, our family chose to go somewhere nearby, Phetchaburi. Last year we went to Kanchanaburi. This year, we booked a place to stay Maleelai Homestay in Bang Tabun. The owner is a twin sister. We saw the review on YouTube, so we decided to go and soak up the atmosphere there to see if it lived up to its reputation. We also wanted to eat fresh seafood, sour curry with fish eggs, which is my favorite. Before, when I was in Rayong, I would eat it very often when we went to the beach. And since moving to Ratchaburi for more than 20 years, I have had it.
We left home and headed to IKO Camp & Café, which is in a valley, quite far from the main road. It was hard to believe that people would drive in. But nowadays, location is not important anymore because most people follow recommendations on social media. My daughter was the one who chose to go here. The atmosphere of the shop is in front of a mountain and there is a large pond. Tourists can set up tents on the lawn near the pond or choose to stay in individual houses. We ordered a drink each. My wife and I watched our children and grandchildren walk around taking pictures at different angles until they were satisfied. Then we left.
After that, we went to have lunch at the market. It was a shop that was recommended on social media. The menu was spicy and sour noodles and followed by ice cream with palm sugar. Which is a famous product of Phetchaburi province. Then we traveled to our accommodation at Maleelai Homestay in Bang Tabun. We arrived at the accommodation at around 2 pm. We rested for a while and then drove out to take our grandchildren to see Climbing fish in the mangrove forest. We also went to the local market. I bought some sun-dried fish for my parents. I also like to eat it.
At 6 pm, we ordered food, which the accommodation prepared for us. We ate together for about an hour. After I finished eating, we went to watch an outdoor movie that the restaurant had set up. The staff had left it on without anyone watching. So I sat and watched and the staff let me choose the movie I wanted to watch. I chose a Chinese movie and watched it until the end. Then I went up to my room to take a shower and go to bed.
The next morning, we woke up in the morning. The accommodation prepared hot rice porridge for us. There were pork and seafood porridge. There were bananas, coffee, and coconut pancakes. Then we took a shower and got dressed, and left the accommodation to go buy souvenirs at Amphawa Floating Market. We stopped for lunch at a restaurant near Amphawa Floating Market. We ordered sour curry with fish eggs again because everyone said that the food we ate last night was not satisfying. This restaurant did not disappoint us. After that, we walked back home. This was the end of our short trip. My family for this year
Thank you, to all my friends for supported me.
Wishing my friends a very Merry and Happy Christmas.
