Today, I will be sharing one of my favourite snack recipes. I love the flavour of this snack. I deem we all love the mint flavour. So without wasting time let's learn how to make perfect Piyaju.
Preparation time: 1 hour
Cook time: 20 minutes
Serving person: 3-4
Total time: 1 hrs 20 minutes
Key Ingredients Amount Red lentil 1 cup Mint leaves As you want Chili powder 1/2 tbs Turmeric powder 1/2 tbs Onion 1/3 cup Green chilli 2 pieces Salt As required Oil As required
First I cleaned Red lentil and soak in water for about 1 hour. This is essential for making this recipe. After 1 hour drain the water and let it dry for a bit. In this way, Red lentils will be puffy and easy to bland.
In this step, I collect mint leaves from my garden. These are so fresh and healthy. I collect around 1 cup of mint leaves and clean them with water.
Then I chopped the leaves. Try to make a thin cut so that it will be mixed with other ingredients easily.
Then I blend Red lentils with a grinder. You have to be very careful about it because if you blend it more than 2 times, it won’t be crispy. Just break the lentils in low pressure.
It's time to add the ingredients. First I add salt. Here I have added as per my requirement. I try to consume less sugar and salt. I think you all should do this for better health.
Then I add 1/2 cup of chopped onion. I finely chopped this onion before. And I add 1/2 tbs turmeric powder. It will make a perfect colour.
Then I added the chopped mint leaves and mixed all the ingredients smoothly. I am just 1 step away from my final preparation.
Finally, I heat a frying pan and pour oil. Then, take a small amount of bitter and make a round shape using my hand. Then drop it in hot oil. Fry until it turns into a Brown colour.
