The predictions of Twitter's immediate collapse, as opposed to the slightly elongated death spiral we're witnessing instead, were based Musk's pledge at the time that Twitter was the "digital public square" and that he was a "free speech absolutist" who would platform all speech that wasn't literally illegal.

But the thing is... Musk lied about his commitment to that idea and immediately abandoned those promises. Well, almost immediately. First there was that brief moment where he tried to avoid being a hypocrite by laughably declaring that parody and the expression of any human's location information were illegal and outside the bounds of free speech. THEN he abandoned the whole "digital public square" thing altogether.

In other words: you don't get to mock people's predictions that were based on what Musk was promising at the time, since he was lying and never actually did what he was promising to do.
