Federico Stibbert was born in a wealthy family and he have not origins Italians and English (1838-1906), he was a famous collector who lived in the villa on the hill of Montughi, close to Florence,where he collect mostly varnpr and weapons, he is a passionate of old warriors and ancient armies, he was very famous in Florence during the 19th century he was also into art and literature a truly l. After years of collecting the original villa became too small for the big collections, that Stibbert kept had a great idea and start to thinking of a museum,a big one, this museum have also many art and sculptures from others Italian important artists . Also the park around the museum it's amazing, a artistic park similar to the boboli garden of Florence. Really supreme with many species of flower's.
The new collection under the Florence administration contains many many pieces and have ten rooms for them, people go there with pleasure and have a lot of visits.
The museum have a lot of beautiful things,paintings, sculptures old armors and weapons from all the world, such an amazing collection.
The rooms crowded with very sumptuous objects also display several paintings, again reflecting the taste of a collector who did not seem to appreciate the primitives and preferred to them Dutch painting and still lives. The museum also includes a very lavish group of portraits belonging to different ages and a big collection of majolicas. Mostly of the armors and weapons are from Eastern and Western Europe but there are many also from Persia or other states. Some pieces are really super rare.
A big part is also dedicated to Japanese armors too, it's very fascinating ,there are also many Islamic and Indian armors, there are a lot of things to see its really a cool museum but you need some hours for visiting it and appreciating it at all. The museum looks really fancy sometimes in some other part of it people make fancy parties , I joined one some years ago really an amazing experience.
