Today, I am going to participate in the contest organized by the honorable moderator @memamun in Steem4Bloggers Community. The name of Contest title is "Discussion of basic knowledge about blogs". Thank you @memamun brother for organizing such a beautiful and timely contest.
A blog is an online journal or informational website. The word "blog" is derived from "weblog". Which means blog. Simply put, a blog is a type of online diary where one or more authors regularly update posts or articles or publish articles and posts. Here the writer shares his personal experience or personal knowledge with others. For example, you are reading this article of mine right now, which is also a blog article. In this blog, I share my experience and knowledge on the internet online, so that people can read the topics I write about.
A blog can be published by writing articles on any topic. But, to attract and retain readers you need to share content that people find useful and value. Which means your article must be valuable and useful as well as exciting and engaging. So, before you start a blog, you must decide what type of blog you want to create. A well-planned policy should be adopted while starting a blog. This is a matter of great importance.
Here is a discussion of some of the most popular types of blogs :-
Personal Blog: A personal blog is a blog that focuses on the author's personal experiences and thoughts. Personal blogs are usually written from a first-person perspective. Personal blogs can be about anything from the writer's daily life to their hobbies and interests.
Among the blogs that were created earlier, the number of personal blogs was more. But due to the popularity of YouTube, the number of such blogs has decreased by percentage.
Business blog: Business blogs are a marketing strategy that helps online businesses communicate and build relationships with their target audience. In my opinion, one of the best ways to showcase knowledge and skills is through business blogging.
News blog: A lot of articles are published every day to make news blogs. That requires a huge team of writers, graphic designers, content proofreaders, publishers and SEO marketing experts. That means huge budget is required. News blogs are written in a more formal tone than other types of blogs.
One of the biggest benefits of blogging is the freedom to express yourself. Because, it is not possible to publish everything as desired in newspapers and magazines. Because the pages of the newspaper are limited. And what you write may not match the editorial policy of the respective magazine. But the opportunity to express my opinion on the blog is almost infinite. And the greatest quality is that what is posted is published immediately. At the same time, the reader's response is also known, so I can get a kind of satisfaction as a blog writer. Which is not possible in the newspaper. I can tell the reader many unpublished news. A blog is an open platform for unlimited expression.
I generally like writing diaries, travelogues etc. I like to mingle with people. Which is made possible through this blog especially through Steemit.
The main difference between a blog and a vlog is its content type. Blog content is usually in text form. Whereas, vlogs deal with video content. Those who write blogs are called bloggers, and those who make vlog videos are called vloggers. The popularity of video blogging has grown tremendously in recent years. Video platforms such as YouTube, Instagram and TikTok have become quite popular.
Vlogs can do the same thing as blogs, but sometimes vlogs can convey a topic better than blogs. And with some content, the opposite happens. Funnily enough, you can do both blogging and vlogging at the same time if you want.
Blogging is a platform for individuals and organizations to share their thoughts, opinions, experiences, knowledge and expertise with a large audience. Many people blog as a creative outlet, using it as a place to express their thoughts and experiences. I think blogs are a great way to share information, tips and advice on a specific topic.
For example, a travel blogger might write about their favorite destinations and give advice on how to travel on a budget. By regularly publishing content and engaging with their audience, bloggers can build a community of loyal followers who are interested in their content. A blog can serve as an online portfolio for creative professionals, showcasing their work and highlighting their skills and experience.
