What is Plagiarism

"Plagiarism is the theft of intellectual property. It occurs when someone uses another's content, ideas, or information to create something but fails to give proper credit to the original creator. " Source

Plagiarism is not simple copying another's text word for word in an attempt to take the credit. It is much more layered and complexed than that. Every piece of information used to create something should be cited as a reference. Failing to do that, is plagiarism. It is, every bit , the equivalent of stealing.

In order for thecontent being published to be original, all the sources used must be cited. Whether it is paraphrase or quoted the origin of the information needs to be clearly provided. Even images have to have source cited. It's not just polite, it's proper.

I have read and understood the Steemit Etiquette on Steemit Community and will do my best to embrace them.
