My work as independent monitor involves both inprocess and endprocess. Inprocess is 5 days while endprocess is 2 days. Currently, we are still in inprocess and I have worked for 3 and 4. We were supposed to end the inprocess on Friday but the stop work announcement delayed the work for a day, making it to extend till Saturday.

So far, I am here to talk about my experience in the 2 days that passed already.

Day 3 experience And a tour with @steemnurse01 as well as capturing nature

I worked in ward 10 in day 3 which is in Oroku and in Udung Uwe/ Udung Uwe settlements. The ward is very far from the places I had worked the previous days, making me to spend more money on transportation. I spent N1500 (5.4 steem at 280 per steem) just on transportation. We are yet to be paid and every expenses is on us. It is becoming more difficult as the day draws to an end. However, I still did my work as required.

  • I went to the health centre of that ward 8, met the focal person who gave me the information I needed to start my work.

  • I filled my operational components forms and saved, took the geo coordinates and moved to the field.

  • On getting to the settlements, I located 2 sites each, took my sampling of 10 kids each, checked if they were immunised and took my geo coordinates and filled the 2 forms each for the 4 sites in the settlements.

  • I then went for the Households to sample 10 houses in each of the settlements chosen at random, marked the houses as required.

  • Filled the forms for each of the settlements, took the geo coordinates and concluded my work for the day.

After I concluded my work for the day which was by past 2 pm, I went to my base for a review meeting. There, the focal persons, the LIO, and the National representative along with other high ranking personnels. Everyone who went to the field is expected to give reports of their work, then report any situation encountered, like resistance, insurgencies and so on.

In my location, there are cult activities. They are killing and retaliating but I didn't meet them. I only heard about their killings. I pray for safety. I don't want to meet them at all.

We were given some tips on how to carry out our duties to avoid having problems with those cultists.

Visiting @steemnirse01 at her place of work

I was done with my duties I quickly remembered that @steemnirse01 works at Oron LGA as a Matron in Iquita General Hospital. I put a call across to her and she was very happy to hear that I wanted to visit. She gave me directions and I boarded a motorbike to her location.

I met her in the labour ward as she just came out from the labour room after assisting a mother to deliver her baby. We hugged and were so excited to see each other. After she was done, she took me out to entertain me. On our way, we met her daughter too who is doing her clinicals in the accident/emergency ward. We took some pictures

She took me out, entertained me, then we went back to the hospital where she took me around the facilities including the nursing school, the hostels, and other wards. It was a very big environment. I took some pictures of both the environment and the sky as it was getting late. The sun was setting with a beautiful sky. Take a look at the pictures and say the one you love most

I went back home after spending good time with her and enjoying the scenes. It was a wonderful experience. The hospital is good for tourism.

Day 4 - ward 8 at Oruko

I gathered my information as usual from the LIO as per the ward to work in, the focal person's name and left. The location was even farther away than day 3 location. And worst of it, the road wasn't in good condition. It is hard to get a motorbike from there out after the one that took you there leaves. With this information, I had to negotiate with a bike to come back a pick me up when I am done. That involved much more money. I spent N2500 (8.9 steem at 280 per steem) to and from. I did my work at Eyobiassang and Eyouweison settlements. I did my work as described in ward 10 above and called the bikeman and he landed and took me back to my base for a review meeting.

I thank God for a successful day 3 and 4. I also thank @alli001 for standing in for me again today, training my clients on the programs I gave him in the morning following the announcement I made in our fitness group on what they should expect for the day
