A part of home in the foreign land

A couple of days back I got to know that one of my Mumbai city restaurants is opening up here in Muscat. As such there are many chains of Indian restaurants that we have here in Muscat, but this one is a little special. The name of this restaurant is Sigdi. When me and hubby were not married and we were still in our courtship days this restaurant had newly opened up in the city of Mumbai.

In those days we barely had any money and this was one of those cheap places where we could afford to eat out. That was one reason and the another was that it served my favorite food Chicken Tandoori. I love it and hence in those days with our very little budget we both would visit this place very often to eat. It was very exciting in those times, because dining out was not a regular practice. Me and hubby both being foody, with our limited budgets we would always hunt such places and this was one of out best pick.

So when we got to know that a branch of it is opening here in Muscat, we were so excited to visit and recalled our old days of this place. Now it's no more a cheap restaurant, later on they became famous and with that their prices also increased. They had opened up with a small road side joint and now they have chains of their restaurant. We have seen this place coming up over the years and we still visit it sometimes when we are in Mumbai, though now not that often as before.

With my friends I visited this place, but I was a little saddened by the food. I ordered my favorite chicken tandoori and it was very spicy. The other dish was very tasty but this one disappointed me. Anyways I enjoyed the place.
