Today I am here to share a tradition of the wedding with you which is the essential part of the culture and it is considered as a good thing. I am here aiming about jahez. This is the paraphernalia of the bride.
This paraphernalia of the bride is given by the bride family to the bride. And the bride brings all these things to her new home which is the home of the groom and bride. In our culture this is an old tradition and it is coming from the last centuries. This has become very essential in this era where money has penetrated in each mind. If I say that wedding without Jahez looks very odd then it will not be wrong. It is a custom.
In the Paraphernalia of the bride all the daily life things and seasoning things are added. These all the things are helpful to live a separate life in the home so that after the marriage the bride should not have need to buy these costly things. It includes dresses, shoes, containers, bedroom clothes, and bedding for the summer and winter season.
In the Paraphernalia of the bride many other things are also included. These are also the daily life usage things. There are electronic things such as iron, washing machines and drier machines. People also add microwave ovens, pedestal fans, ceiling fans and LED. For the paraphernalia of my nephew we added the big almari, washing machine, drier machine, electric iron and big copper wire pedestal fan. Everything was of high quality.
Jewelers is the crucial and the most essential part of the paraphernalia of the bride because these are the things which are used in the events of wedding ceremony. In the jewellery there are necklaces, earrings, hair catchers, nose rings and hand rings.
For each function and event there is separate jewellery. Some jewellery sets are artificial. But there is one set which is made up of gold. It enhances the beauty of the bride. Glass bangles as well as metal bangles are also the part of the jewellery.
Paraphernalia of the bride is incomplete without the fancy dresses of the bride. For each function of the wedding there is a specific fancy outfit for the bride and groom. There are main three functions of each wedding in a normal way. But we can enhance and increase the number of functions of the wedding according to our pocket. First main function is the Mehdi function. In this function the relatives of the bride and groom wishes them with prosperity and happiness.
Right after the henna function on the very next day there is the Barat function. Mehndi function is also known as henna so don't be confused in henna here. In the barat the groom comes with his companions towards the bride family. The bride family welcomed them. Both the families willingly tie a knot of the bride and groom. Some traditional, Islamic and social duties are fulfilled. After this the bride and groom becomes halal to each other. After this there is the walima function which is hosted by the groom's family. This is done as a celebration for the successful marriage and there is the great feast.
I have me ruined these functions here because in each function the paraphernalia of the bride plays an important role because in all these functions especially the Paraphernalia dresses and jewellery is used.
So in my country specifically in my area this is the paraphernalia of the bride.
