So Beautiful Rosa Peace Flower

miptahul -

The Rosa 'Peace', one of the most celebrated and historically significant roses, is a hybrid tea rose known for its exquisite beauty, unique coloration, and symbolic representation of harmony and hope. This rose is more than just a garden staple; it carries a story of resilience, triumph, and a message of peace amidst turmoil.
History and Origins
The story of Rosa 'Peace' begins in 1935 with French horticulturist Francis Meilland, who aimed to create a rose that was both stunning and resilient. After years of meticulous hybridization, Meilland produced a rose with large, elegantly shaped blooms and a remarkable color gradient—golden yellow at the base, transitioning to soft pink at the edges. The result was breathtaking, and the rose was initially called Madame A. Meilland, in honor of his mother.
However, the timing of its development coincided with the outbreak of World War II. As the Nazi occupation spread across Europe, Meilland sent cuttings of the rose to friends and rose breeders in Italy, Germany, and the United States to preserve his work. The cuttings shipped to the United States arrived safely, and the rose was eventually introduced to the American market.
In 1945, as the war came to an end, the rose was officially named "Peace" during a ceremony by the American Rose Society. The naming ceremony coincided with the United Nations' inaugural meeting in San Francisco, symbolizing a global longing for peace and reconciliation after years of conflict.
