Hello steemian friends, on this occasion I would like to share with you how my steps to make educational games to stimulate student concentration and encourage their enthusiasm for learning.

As a teacher, of course I must be able to make the learning process more interesting and creative, this is very important so that students do not feel bored in participating in learning activities. So on this occasion I will carry out a concentration game activity. I did this game with 3rd grade students with an average age of 8-9 years old.

💁‍♂️ Explain the creative process step by step, including illustrations. Don't forget to share the materials used and the final result.

The steps to carry out the concentration patting game activity are very easy and simple, I wrote some instructions on the board by making some shapes of pictures such as pictures with squares and circles.

I also give instructions if the shape of the box students should pat the table with both their hands, while if the shape of the circle then the students should do hand clapping. So this game is very simple isn't it.

Explain and provide examples of how to play educational games.

Writing game instructions

Instructions
⏹️ Square: Pat the table
🔘 Round: Applause

While the tools needed for this game we can utilize some resources that already exist in the classroom, such as:

  1. Blackboard
  2. Markers
  3. and Study Table

The first step before implementing this game I first explained to all students that if I showed a box shape students had to clap the table simultaneously, but if I showed a circle shape students had to clap their hands.

Then the next step I give an example to all students how to clap the table and clap hands, I also invite them all to do it together. After the students understand the instructions given, the game will begin immediately.

🙅‍♂️ Explain the purpose of the educational game you are creating. What do you want to teach with the game?

The main objectives of this educational game are as follows:

  1. Eliminate boredom in learning, students feel bored after following some learning material, therefore we can eliminate their boredom by inviting them to do a concentration pat game.

  2. Training concentration, through this game students are encouraged to concentrate more on each form of the image given, besides that they also have to focus on the rhythm of clapping done by friends around them, so that the sound will sound the same.

Through the concentration clapping game I want to teach children to be more focused on all the commands given, through this game I also encourage them to be more enthusiastic about the learning I provide, because I understand that a good teacher is a teacher who is able to create an active, interesting, and fun learning atmosphere for students.

🙋‍♂️ In your own words explain how to play

Provide an explanation to students what to do in the game.

The concentration clap game is very easy to play, students only need to do table clap or hand clap movements according to the sequence in the picture that I have made on the board. The clue is that if the picture is a square, students should pat the table, if the picture is a circle, students should clap their hands.

Students should clap according to the instructions on the picture on the board, this row of pictures can be changed according to the taste and desire of the teacher. The instructions can also be added or subtracted, or replaced with other commands such as finger picking, chest tapping, thigh tapping and foot stomping.

🤷‍♂️ Does the child like the game? Was the game boring or entertaining? Tell us about your experience and your child's experience playing educational games.

Of course, all students really like the concentration clapping game, this activity has succeeded in entertaining them and relieving boredom when they follow the lesson. Even students repeatedly said "let's play clapping again?" Of course, all students are very enthusiastic about this game and they even want to continue this game.

Group photo with students after finishing playing educational games.

When we do the concentration clapping game every time there must be students who are wrong because they are not focused and concentrated, but there are also students who are wrong because they cannot see the instructions on the board, this is because we study in a makeshift classroom which is very narrow. So when I stood in the middle, it prevented some students from seeing the instructions on the board.

They felt furious and annoyed when I blocked them because they could not do the concentration clap perfectly, I apologized to them and then I looked for a more comfortable position so that students were not disturbed in playing the concentration clap game.

When doing this game there is a difference between male and female students, when I give the opportunity to female students to do it together they do the table clap and clap less vigorously. But the male students were full of enthusiasm and energy.

In addition, there was an entertaining thing that made me laugh during this activity, I asked for help from one of the students to record a video, because he was too focused on recording the student did not see behind his position there was wood so his head was hit, I was sorry but fortunately it did not become a serious injury. After playing this game and all students felt entertained we then did a group photo session and continued the learning material.
