It is known that cesarean surgery has not been possible since the establishment of upazila health complex till now because there is no anesthetist. As a result, the pregnant women of this area have to suffer. The surgery was first started on Saturday after almost two decades when an anesthetist from Feni's trauma center was trained. In the afternoon, the newborn was born through surgery.

The first caesarean operation in Fulgazi Hospital was done by Fahmida Akhter Sathi Upazila of Komua village of Munsirhat Union. Wife of Mubarak Hossain.

Fulgazi Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Rubaiyat bin Karim said, after more than two years, a cesarean section was performed at the health complex. The task was complex. Because, the water void and breathing problem of the pregnant child appeared. Mother and child are fine. There was no cost to them.

He also said that minor surgeries will also be done in the health complex from now on. Now the pregnant mothers of the upazila will face a lot of pain in childbirth.

According to health complex sources, a 31-bed hospital was established in Fulgazi upazila in 1997. All the modern equipments have been bought at a cost of crores of rupees to perform caesarean section, but due to shortage of anesthetists, it has not been possible to start surgery in the health complex. Fulgazi Upazila Health Complex is located about 20 km north of the district town. So far no anesthetist has joined this health complex. In this, the upazila residents were deprived of the services of cesarean delivery.

According to doctors and family sources of the pregnant woman, the family members brought pregnant Fahmida Akhter Sathi to the upazila health complex this morning. She went into labor around 2pm. Junior Consultant (Gynaecology and Obstetrics) dr. Kamrunnahar. Anesthetist Faiz Ahmed Murad gave him anesthesia. Fahmida Akhtar gave birth to a son through surgery.

Upazila Health Complex is about four kilometers from Kamua village. The newborn's father Mubarak Hossain is financially poor and runs the family by working as a mason.

He said that a health assistant of the union told him that the hospital provides free delivery. So came to the hospital with his wife and had a cesarean in the afternoon.
