SaveTheChildrenDAO: Bring Warmth to an Indonesian Mountainous Area

The other day, SaveTheChildrenDAO visited a poverty-stricken mountainous area of Indonesia and brought warmth and love to more than 200 families. Ten members of the SaveTheChildrenDAO community gave the children love bags containing bread, instant noodles, cooking oil, clothes, stationery and other practical objects. The children who received the gifts were very happy, wearing big smiles on their faces.

SaveTheChildrenDAO is a community-based autonomous charity organization. It spends every donation received helping children in need. Unlike traditional charity organizations, SaveTheChildrenDAO relies on smart contracts and encrypted network, so that strangers can quickly reach a consensus and work together to help children. SaveTheChildrenDAO has achieved rapid spread and expansion within a short period of time globally. Its community members are now distributed in more than 100 countries and regions. They are widely engaged in finance, medicine and health, food manufacturing, education system and other fields.

The Indonesian mountainous area is located in the Pacific Rim seismic and volcanic belt. Affected by frequent natural disasters such as mountain fires and mountain torrents, the arable area and people's working hours are both reduced, so the local economy lags behind. After the outbreak of COVID-19, people's live a harder life. Many poor families and easily neglected vulnerable groups see their livelihood cut off, fail to make ends meet, and even have problems with three meals. After Asian members of SaveTheChildrenDAO shared the news in the community, many caring people responded quickly and gave targeted donations.

The supplies sent by SaveTheChildrenDAO to the Indonesian mountainous area this time were purchased with donations from community members, and the 10 members of the charity action team are all from Asia. It took less than 20 days to finish fundraising from global channels, establishment of an action team, purchase of supplies locally, free delivery, and distribution to the children. This is a solid evidence of the high autonomy and efficiency of DAO.

The SaveTheChildrenDAO charity action team had in-depth exchanges with the children on the top of delivering supplies. After understanding the children’s troubles, the team members offered solutions and encouraged them to keep learning, maintain their curiosity to explore the world and pursue a better future.

The first charitable practice of SaveTheChildrenDAO in the Indonesian mountainous area shows that a global community organization in the form of DAO can detect children in the most urgent need in time, which can improve the accuracy of charity needs investigation, save costs, and help those most in need to the greatest extent. The DAO has established partnerships with various children support organizations around the world and has donated to sos children's village more than once.
