Hello all my faithful readers, may this opportunity serve to share with you all some of the executive impressions from the NATO side as to whether there are indeed no conditions right now for a peaceful settlement.

According to Jens Stoltenberg there are no conditions right now for a peaceful settlement, and he called on member states to support Ukraine with arms, who also urged members of the Western alliance to continue to provide arms to Kiev during the winter because, he warned, Russia was preparing for a spring offensive.

Stoltenberg's comments follow weeks of speculation about diplomatic talks on the war that has been going on for more than nine months now, as a string of comments from senior Western officials refer to possible negotiations.

There is no option for an agreement, on possible peace talks, the conditions are not in place now because Russia has shown no signs of engaging in negotiations that respect Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, the NATO secretary general said in an interview at FT's Global Boardroom event on Wednesday.

In the words of it is up to the Ukrainians to decide when is the right time to start negotiating and agree on the terms, he further states that most wars, and most likely this war as well, will end at the negotiating table.

Stoltenberg warned that Moscow was seeking a break in the war to prepare for a renewed assault in early 2023, what we see now is that Russia, in reality, is attempting to freeze this war, at least for a short period of time, so that they can regroup, repair and recover, and attempt to launch a larger offensive next spring.
