A little background about halving. For people, who follows cryptocurrencies, halving is a way to cut the rate at which new coins are released into the circulation.
The goal is to reduce inflation. Imagine that a cryptocurrency has an equivalent value against fiat money, such as US dollars. If the number of total token of such cryptocurrency increases, then the value of each token will decrease.
Take $BTC as an example, every 210,000 blocks or approximately 4 years, the block rewards is cut in half, until the year of 2140. The last halving we had was on May 11, 2020.
Today is $PNUT's second halving, and the code dictated that there will be two more halving until the block reward permanently stays at 1.25 $PNUT/block around October 2023.
The entire crypto world had a bear run in the past two weeks. The price of each coin/tokens has been dropping due to various negative news.
However, the run might have been changed when we step into Uptober.
$PNUT has her coin burning event during the the middle of last week, 15 million $PNUT have been burnt. Around the same time, the price rebounded gradually. By the end of last week, it has bounced back to $0.0261; an increase of 13% from Monday.
Other cryptocurrencies have also begun to rise; Following this trend, along side with the halving event today, I surely hope that the $PNUT continue to rise in the upcoming weeks.
Nutbox has lost some delegated power for the first time in two months in the middle of the week. However, it did not stop the rise, the total delegated power continued to grow by the end of the week, and marked a five-week straight increase.
