In The Shadow - The Will to Persevere

kozanozdra -

In every being, fear is present. It is necessary for survival. Fear is the mind's first reaction, a message sent to the body to protect it from pain and death. But when this fear becomes constant and uncontrollable, doesn't it turn from a protector of life into its enemy? Anything beneficial, when in excess, becomes harmful.

Perhaps it is precisely when we overindulge in our desire to preserve and survive that we become self-destroyers of our own lives, losing the joy of living. Fear magnifies dangers, making them appear larger than they actually are. This is why conquering it is so important.

And when we start fearing even our own shadow, when we turn our lives into voluntary prisons in the name of not getting hurt, does it still make sense to live it? Isn’t a short, meaningful life filled with adventures better than a long life full of fears and phobias? How do we overcome these weaknesses within ourselves to savor the sweetness of life?

Must we always measure right and wrong, good and bad, on scales? Isn’t it precisely mistakes and pains that make us better and wiser? Questions and answers that cannot wash away the lingering mud of fear from our souls. Fear does not protect from pain - it gives birth to it! In the land of fear, everything is enlarged and free, like a shadow. One falls into its trap unknowingly, and to be saved, effort is required.

Every journey begins with a single step, and may hard work, perseverance, and the belief that we can overcome fear be our shadow, standing out even in the darkness!
