In Nigeria where I come from, and some African Countries, ending of the year is always full of celebration, especially some Christian denominations. While some will be rejoicing for being alive to see the end of the year, some would wish the year should wind down immediately, complaining how the year wasn't fair to them and believing that the new year will be better.

Once they witness 1st of January, jubilation will fill the air, they'll shout happy new year..... The same thing they did in years past. The funniest part of it is that, as they progress in the so call new year, they'll still be angry and pray the year should pass so that they will make it in another new year. This routine occurrence raises questions.

Will Next Year be a Good year for all of us?

I wish I could say yes but it won't be. Life does not work like that. Life is like a plain sheet of paper, what you sketch on it, determines what it will produce for you. All of us will not make it next year.

Why?

That's because while some are working, others are sleeping. While some are in school, picking up degrees, knowledge, status and certificates, learning skills, updating, others are playing around flexing. While some are humble and serve their masters, talking insults and threats, waiting for status change, others are too proud to learn, to serve, to work.

While some are increasing their social capital, making relevant friends, others are there saying, "One day I will be lucky like them?" While others are drawing close to people who have made it, in business, in career, in politics, in life, in ministry, to tap from their spiritual aroma, to tap from their network of contacts, to study and emulate the things they do, to be "sponsored" some are there beefing, making snide comments, feeling comfortable in the company of fellow complainants like them.

How many days in 2025 have you marked for specific course of action? I know God will bless you, favour you, give you luck. God still needs your cooperation to make these things happen. Don't frustrate God. If you do nothing, you will become nothing!

My Advice!

It is not possible for everyone to make it at Once: It is very pertinent to embrace this reality of Success in today's fast-paced. Social media platforms, journalists and printing medias only present what they want you to read and view, they showcase the highlight reels of other's lives, making it look as if everyone is reaching their goals and living their best lives - all at the same time.

In reality, everyone can't make it at once. The Myth of Simultaneous Success, the notion that everyone can achieve success simultaneously is a myth that can lead to feelings of inadequacy, frustration, and burnout. We compare our journey to others, forgetting that:

  1. You need to have patience while working so hard to achieve success and everyone's timeline is different.

  2. Everyone has different target and tactics. Individuals have unique goals, strengths, and challenges.

  3. People have different learning methods and technical know-how. Progress is not often a straight line; you should expect setbacks prepare yourself on how to overcome, learn from every bit of experiences, and detours.

Embracing the Reality

If you recognise that everyone can't make it at once, you will be liberated from unrealistic expectations.

Take Home

I charge all my steemian colleagues to embrace the reality that everyone can't make it at once. This thought will free us from the pressure of comparing ourselves to others. Let us always focus on our unique journeys, and we should always celebrate other's successes, in all of these; it's very important for us to stay committed to our goals, we can find fulfillment and success in our own time.
