Attending Kid's birthday party [A colourful event].

Friday 20th December, 2024 was a remarkable day. My neighbor's daughter by name "Am Blessed" marked her 2nd birthday. The party was a vibrant and exciting celebration that brought so much joy to children in our compound and neighborhood.

It created lifelong memories as the atmosphere was filled with laughter, excitement and fun. I acted in a dual capacity, A photographer that covered the event and also an invited guest.

Before the arrival of invited guests, the party variety of foods preparation was ongoing, and the party venue was transformed into a colourful and festive space. Balloons, streamers and decorations adorned the wall, tables and canopies. To add more beauty and happiness in the minds of children, Father Christmas and Big Mouth animated sitcom masquerade were fully on ground.

The Master of Ceremony (M.C) who was also the Disc Jockey (D.J) was so funny and entertaining, his public address system was very sound and well connected. His comic manner of welcoming guests to their seats was second to none

As a good number of guests and kids arrived the event venue and were greeted with a warm welcome to their seats accompanied by special soft music, as the Christian culture demands, MC called the pastor (Pastor Morgan Ukpong) and the grandmother of the celebrant to come out and say a word of prayer by committing the event to God to take control and also pray for the celebrant and her parents.

The next on the items was introduction of the dignitaries. After introduction was series of fun and games.

• Kids Dance competition: Kids were called upon to dance to birthday tunes and winners went home with gifts like writing materials.

• Bottle fill game: You need to watch this funny game. Empty bottles were placed in a distance from the contestants, where the contestants fetch water from a bucket and run to fill the Bottle. The first person to fill his or her bottle worn different prices.

• Parents Dance/Fishing game: Parents who came with their children were also given chance to compete. In fishing competition, an empty Coca-Cola bottles were placed in a distance of 2 meters away from contestants. A fishing hook was given and the first person to put the hook in the bottle worn a price. This to me was the funniest game, kids were so excited to see their parents dance and also play games competition.

• Egg peeling game: In this competition, the first person to peel and finished eating the boiled egg was the winner.

While a cool and slow love song was playing, Parents of the celebrant, Mr./Mrs. Christian Etim were given the special time to dance, hug, kiss and embraced each other in love. You would not like to miss the aroma of love that blossomed into the air. Indeed love is a beautiful thing.

The celebrant who was inside the room was matched outside to the tune of the birthday song that was played for her. When she saw the crowd, she was frightened and started crying. You know how it feels for a child of 2 years to meet such a crowd. At some point, she was used to the crowd and successfully cut her birthday cake with a smile on her face.

Celebrant's parents took the lead, followed by fathers and intended fathers in the house, mothers and intended mothers joined before the kids, ranging from age 1 to 5, 6 to 8 and 9 to 12 respectively.

In the course of the event, my son Princewill met a new friend by name UbongAbasi and also worn exercise book in one of the game competitions.

Mr. Christian Etim, the celebrant's father expressed his profound gratitude to God Almighty for seeing us through the birthday party of their daughter and thanked all the guests for honouring their invitation. He was so happy with kids and their parents for releasing their children to participate in the birthday party of their daughter.

Vote of thanks

It was night already, different kinds of food, drinks and chop chop (meat) were shared and people ate and enjoyed the dine time with the celebrant's family. After which the writing materials was shared to all the kids present before the Pastor said a closing prayer.
