Today, I prepared catfish peppersoup which was accompanied with boiled ripe plantain. This recipe was sponsored by the cold weather. I needed something hot to keep myself warm.
Catfish peppersoup is a traditional dish ideal for cold. It can be accompanied with with rice, yam, plantain or eaten like that. I learnt it from my aunt. I would love to share this recipe with you.
Ingredients
If you want it peppery, you add more pepper. Add all the ingredients according to your taste.
Procedure
First, I prepared my catfish. I cut it into smaller pieces and washed it.
I transferred the fish to a clean pot and put it on fire. I allowed it to boil.
I added onions, pepper, salt and boulion cubes to the boiling water.
Over to the plantain
I am a very big fan of plantain. I just love it. I would pick plantain over yam over and over again.
I peeled and cut my ripe plantain to my desired size and shape. I made my plantains big so it could complement the peppersoup. Apart from that, I love my boiled plantains big to prevent it from falling apart while cooking and it also looks appealing.
And that is my recipe!
You should give it a try because catfish is rich in fiber making it possible to aid digestion. It could be used as an appetiser or a dessert. It is also rich in calcium and Vitamin C which is good for our teeth.
Boiled plantain contains antioxidants that fight against free radicals. It also contains fiber, magnesium and potassium. It is a good source of Vitamin C which helps to build the immune system.
Cooking is an art, feel free to express yourself. You can use the Catfish peppersoup to cook something else, be creative. And please, tag me when you do.
Thank you for letting me share my knowledge with you. I am so grateful. I would love to invite @ninapenda, @goodybest and @ulfatulrahmah to participate.
