When we seek to address this approach, two of the key ideas of racist discourse that have been used until today are: The first consists of defending the existence of human races: “white race”, “black race”, “indigenous race” and “mestizo race”. Because even though there is no scientific evidence to support this idea, many people in Peru continue to believe that races exist. The second thesis of this speech is the hierarchical relationship that exists between races. Whites are the superior race since they are intelligent, industrious and moral, and “blacks” are the inferior race since they are ignorant, idle and lead licentious lives. In this way, racism is usually associated with the defense of social hierarchies, that is, it usually goes hand in hand with the fatal idea that the place that each person occupies in society is determined by their race and ethnicity, also.
