The successful return of the Polaris Dawn Mission

The long-awaited Polaris Dawn has culminated, the most ambitious private space mission ever carried out, carried out by carrying the Dragon capsule out of the earth on top of a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket and you know what makes this mission so special, it marked the first Private spacewalk in history, that's right, something that was previously restricted to government astronauts is now possible to do it by civilians.

Aboard the Dragon ship, four crew members made history, Commander Jared Isaacman, Pilot Scott Poteet, Mission Specialist Sarah Gillis and Medical Officer Ana Menon faced the challenges of a multi-day mission in low Earth orbit, conducting experiments scientists and of course performing the iconic spacewalk, but what makes this mission so significant is not just the walk.

The Polaris Dawn Mission also carried out 38 scientific experiments focused on the effects of space flight and radiation on human health, one of the riskiest parts of the mission is that for the first time since the time of the Polo program in the 1970s The ship passed through the dangerous Van Allen belt, an area full of radiation, although it was a short journey, this incursion was carefully monitored to guarantee the safety of the crew.

Originally scheduled for liftoff in August, the mission faced a series of frustrating delays due to adverse weather conditions in the Dragon's splashdown zone, to make sure no one got sick during the mission the team had to stay in quarantine for 30 hours before launch finally the day arrived and the Phaeton 9 climbed into space without any problems, after 58 seconds of flight the craft reached max quit, the point of highest aerodynamic pressure in the neck, approximately 2 and a half minutes later the main engine shut down and the first stage separated.

While the second stage of the rocket burned for 6 more minutes, the first stage performed its powered landing maneuver, successfully touching down on the Just Read the Instructions pad, which I personally find to be a real technological spectacle with this form of rocket reuse.

Approximately 12 minutes after launch, the Dragon spacecraft separated from the second stage and began its journey into the Van Allen radiation belt, before entering a lower, safer circular orbit, and this is where history was made, humanity's first private spacewalker, according to SpaceX this is not the Dragon's first adventure, the spacecraft has already flown to the International Space Station and participated in the Inspiration 4 mission, the first private mission to orbit the earth, and the first stage booster which had already completed three previous flights including a Crew mission to the ISS, once again fulfilled its role with mastery.

With the success of this mission SpaceX continues to pave the way to a new era of space exploration in which private missions become an ever closer reality.
