Everyone talks about how much energy bitcoin uses, which it does use a lot, but then they go on to say how it's contributing to global warming and climate change etc etc.
However, they don't really compare it to other farms of mining...
Gold mining for example:
Now compare that to a bitcoin mining operation:

Now this bitcoin mining operation is clearly a smaller scale operation than that gold mining operation, but you get the idea.
So, yes bitcoin uses a lot of energy, but when you compare it to other forms of mining, is it really that bad?!
