Aw... Such a Cutie

Wasn't sure what kind of animal this was. I thought it might be a porcupine but after a little research I found it to be a hedgehog. But thankfully there aren't any in this immediate area. At least we haven't seen any. A hedgehog will eat anything. And I'm sure if there were any here they would head for the garden.

We have great neighbors. One of them was able to trap all the armadillos. Sadly it is illegal to to relocate them in Florida and he killed them. I wouldn't be able to do that. But armadillos cause a lot of damage. They like to borough under structures like propane tanks and concrete supports for structures.

So although hedgehogs and armadillos are cute it's wonderful there are no more armadillos and no hedgehogs here. When I lived further North in Tennessee the hedgehogs raided the garden. They would take a few bites out of a melon and run through the whole garden doing that.

I hear hedgehogs makes good pets. Certainly an uncommon one. But I'm not into pets. And no animals in the house is the rule. Three cats outside in the barn are about all I can deal with.

Have to admit hedgehogs are really cute, though.
