Disruption is something that many people throw about. But what precisely is it, and most importantly, why does it happen or most, it's the classic "I know it when I see it" line. In many cases, this is adequate. However, in this era of rapidly evolving technology, it is critical to understand how disruption occurs. Why do corporations fall to this when they wield great power, wealth, and political influence? Is it because our leaders are stupid Actually, there's a basic reason why disruption occurs. It causes industry to be devastated. Large businesses that were once big economic generators are now fossils, a footnote in history.Only one entity has survived: governments. Before we get into why governments will be disrupted, let's go over the fundamentals of disruption. This is the first step toward understanding why governments will be impotent to survive the attack that awaits them.

Most people understand that disruption happens when a new innovation (technology, product, or system) emerges on the scene. This nearly usually originates from outside sources, as incumbents are less likely to innovate. For a while, the new innovation exists on the outskirts. It is mocked because things are inconsistent. Early versions do not operate well, demonstrating the divide between the old and new. This offers even more certainty to the incumbents.

The world is experiencing complete disruption, posing a significant challenge for governments. The issue stems from the fact that our governments were designed for a physical society, relying on tangible objects. Over the past 50 years, there has been a significant shift towards digital (non-physical) systems, which is only accelerating. Blockchain is one example of this disconnect.

We are already seeing governments take attempts to restrict AI. While this appears to be an achievable goal, it is important to realize that governments are not on the same side. The United States and China are at odds, with each attempting to impose themselves in the field of artificial intelligence.Essentially, each is attempting to dominate.
The difficulty here is that AI is not being developed by governments. It is concentrated on Big Tech but fast spreading.

This will have far-reaching consequences for society. There will be many disruptions before governments, but these are on the list.
