What do you understand about Family Planning?
Family planning, to my understanding, means the practice of managing when how many children a couple or person would have based on their desires and circumstances. Family planning is important as it encompasses a wide range of health, economic considerations, and social lifestyles. Family planning involves the following:
- Contraceptive methods
- Health benefits
- Population and economic impacts etc.
Health providers, organizations aiming to enhance reproductive health and rights, and the government always encourage and support family planning in our society.
Do you think countries should regulate their population using Family Planning? How do you think that will help them? Explain.
To some extent, I do think countries should regulate their population using family planning. The reason for this is some children are roaming about the street begging, hustling, and doing all manner of things to survive because their families cannot care for them.
Seeing all this in our society and countries I think there should be a need for family planning to reduce population and create a better society. There is no point t bringing someone into this world to survive if there were regulation of the population using family planning, there would be fewer unemployed people and less privileged people in our society.
Do you encourage family planning? Tell us your reasons.
Yes, I encourage family planning, because it offers us numerous benefits for society, families, and individuals. The more reasons why I encourage family are:
Health Benefits
Family planning reduces mental health issues like the risk of pregnancy-related complications by allowing spacing between births. Also, it reduces the risk of premature births and low birth weight, thereby allowing parents to provide better care for each child.
Economic Stability
Family planning helps people to plan their financial life more better, by ensuring that they have the needed resources to support their children's health, education, and development. Also, family planning helps to reduce poverty by allowing people especially women, to pursue their education and careers without interruptions.
Social and Environmental Impact
Family planning helps to reduce the physical, emotional, and financial strain of unplanned pregnancies. Also, family planning helps to prevent unsafe abortions and associated risks.
Tell us about some of the methods or types of family planning you know or have heard of.
I know of several methods or types of family planning some of which are:
Natural methods
This is the method that has to do with tracking menstrual cycles, basal body temperature, and cervical mucus to determine fertile days and avoid intercourse during such days. In this method, there is what is called pull-out-method which the male partner withdraws before ejaculation to prevent sperm from entering the vagina so pregnancy wouldn't occur.
Barrier Methods
This is the method by which both males and females use condoms to act as physical barriers, preventing sperm from reaching the egg while also protecting against sexually transmitted infections.
