INDIA DISCRIMINATION REPORT
Oxfam India released the India Discrimination Report which has highlighted that discrimination in India causes 100 per cent of employment inequality. Faced by women in the labour market.
Apart from women, historically oppressed communities such as Dalits and Adivasi, along with religious minorities such as Muslims, also continue to face discrimination in accessing jobs, livelihoods, and agricultural credits.
These are commonly known as the decomposition methods and are described as such.

GENDER-BASED DISCRIMINATION IN REGULAR/SALARIED
EMPLOYMENT
The advantage of being a man in the rural labour market is obvious. A significant gap in eamings between men and women is observed even for RE in 2019-20.
THE AVERAGE EARNING OF MEN IS INR 19,750 AS AGAINST INR 15,578 FOR WOMEN
Earnings of Self-employed males are 2.5 times more than females, 83% of which is attributed to gender-based discrimination.
Male casual workars eam INR 3000 per month more than females, 90% of which is due to discrimination.
According to Indian government data, in 2020-21 women labour decreased to 25.1% of the labour force from 42.7% in 2004-05.
This is a big cause of concern as it shows women from the workforce despite India's economic growth during the period 2004-05.
In the last couple of years the Covid-19 pandemic accelerated this trend due to lockdowns.
Major area of concern for gender discrimination at work place.
