Today was the fifth day of Eid a special time for celebration. I decided to go to Ibrahim Market to buy some fresh vegetables for my family. But something surprising happen when I saw the prices of tomato. Let me tell you about my day in the market.
Buying Fresh Vegetables:
When I reached the market I saw lots of colorful vegetables. The red tomatoes looked especially nice. But when I asked about the price I was shocked. They were much more expensive than usual I still want to buy some because they looked fresh. So I got one kilogram of tomatoes. I also bought some carrot because I really like them. Carrots are crunch and orange and they are good for you Even though I was surprised by the high tomato prices I still bought them.

Picking Fresh Strawberries:
After buying vegetables I went to the fruit Section. There were big juicy strawberries on display. I remembered that we were expecting guest tomorrow so I decided to buy some strawberries for them. I got one kilogram because they looked so delicious. The strawberries were red and smelled sweet. I thought they would be a nice treat for our visitor.

As I walked back home from the market I thought about the high price of tomatoes. Why were they so expensive today? I couldn't find out the reason. Maybe it was because of the time of year or maybe there was a problem with getting them to the markets. It was a bit confusing.
Looking back on my day I realized that going to Ibrahim Market was interesting. I got to see lots of different kinds of fruits and vegetables and I learned that prices can change for different reason. Even though I was surprised by the expensive tomato I still enjoyed my trip to the market.
I think its important to remember that even small things like buying vegetable at the market can teach us about how the Economy works. Price can go up and down but people still find way to buy what they need. Going to the market reminded me of how resilient and adaptable our communities can be.
So even though I didn't figure out why tomatoes were so expensive today I am still glad I went to Ibrahim Market. It was fun and educational experience and I look forward to going back again soon to explore more and learn more about our local Economy.
