Dear Diary,

Saturday was a beautiful, joyous, and loving day as I celebrated my cousin's wedding. I woke up early and got ready with my kids; we were pretty excited because we knew we'd see my parent, siblings, and friends. We move to the venue where we will all memeetnd journey down to Eket LGA w, where the marriage ceremony will take place. Everyone lit 🔥 promising a wonderful day ahead.

The ceremony began at 1 PM with the groom taking his seat with his best man and little groom and the bride's father walking his daughter down the aisle. The ceremony kicked off with an opening song and heartfelt prayer, creating a serene environment that reminded everyone of the sacredness of marriage. A marriage discussion was given by an invited speaker who reminded the couple of eir roles: the husband is the head of the family and, as such, should protect, provide, and care for his wife; he should love her as himself and be ready to die for her. The wife was admonished to have deep respect for her husband; they were encouraged to make Jehovah God the originator of marriage, the third cord in their marriage; it was such an inspiring talk!

It was touching to see my cousin and his wife exchanging marital vows before God's presence and men, it was so moving just like the world around us faded away, leaving only their love shining brightly, hahaha 😂 it reminded me of eight years ago when I took my vow to love, respect and cherish my husband for the rest of my life, I was exchanging warm glances with my husband.

After this session we moved outside for a photo session. I had a delightful time taking pictures with my father, siblings, and hubby, capturing precious moments I will forever cherish. We laughed and smiled a lot, and this brightened up the day.

Then it was reception time. We moved inside the hall, and then the couple made a grand entrance, dancing into the Hall with the groomsmen and trends; they were radiating happiness, and the energy in the Hall was simply contagious. The chairman opened the ceremony with earnest remarks. He encouraged everyone to celebrate responsibly, everything should take place in orderliness and for God's glory. He warned against the spreading of money as this is against the law of Nigeria, the audience should focus on the purpose of the day.

One of the highlights was the cutting of the cake. The MC cleverly defines CAKE as an acronym; C for communication, he told them that communication is the lifeboat of any relationship, A for attention, he told them that they should always give one another absolute attention. K was for caring, and E was for enthusiasm. The joy on their faces shouldn't fade. He then told them to cut the cake when they heard the number of children they decided to have, guess what? They cut at 50, and everyone in the audience busted into laughter and cheers, making the moment even sweeter!

Next, they were asked their intended pet name; the husband said he would be calling his wife "My love" Aww, and the wife said she would call him "Sugar Boy." How sweet! Then they were feeding themselves, calm music was playing in the background and it was such a heartwarming moment, I was a bit nostalgic, recalling how my beloved husband drank the first cup of wine he poured for me because I pretended to reject it, wanted him to pet me, Haha 🤣🤣 husband man was hungry and tasty.

Next, the couple, alongside their groomsmen and bridal train, were playing a hilarious game of singing nursery rhymes. Watching everyone join in, singing off-key with smiles, hahaha 🤣😹 this was one of the most fun parts of the day too. Then, the bride and her friends performed a beautiful dance for her husband; oh no, the joyful expression and love on their faces were priceless.

Lastly, it was refreshment time, we brought party jellof rice, in my kid's voice, porridge plantain, and drinks, we feasted on it, and shared it with other audience too, we laughed and enjoyed every moment. Oh my the day flew by, and before we realize it was 6:00PM The chairman concluded the event, allowing the groom; my cousin to express his heartfelt gratitude to everyone. The evening ended with a prayer, thanking God for the blessed union.

We finally, journeyed back home, feeling grateful and elated for my cousin, he is embarking on school of no graduation, a beautiful journey of family life, and I'm so happy for him, I wish him success! We reached home in the night, so we just showered and retired for the day.

Thank you dear diary, see you again!
