How are you all? I hope everyone is doing well. Traveling is an amazing thing that makes a person feel very fresh, and I really like traveling and experiencing new things and adventures. Even though I get scared of that adventure, I still do it because I have a passion for doing all the adventures and getting rid of my fears. For instance, I panic a lot when it comes to going inside the water like scuba diving scares me, but I want to do it, and when I look down from heights, I feel very scared, but still, I want to do all those adventures. Anyway, some time ago, our university arranged a picnic at Charna Island, which we couldn’t attend because of exams, but then many students also couldn’t go because of exams, so the university arranged it again. We were very happy, but in the group, someone or the other was having issues, and everyone was saying, no, we can’t go. Then we didn’t convince anyone and just said we are going, if you want to come, come; otherwise, we are going anyway, and you won’t believe it, in the end, everyone went.

Our packages included snorkeling, cliff diving, boat, transport, food, and snacks, which I found quite good, and the cliff diving height was 20 to 25 feet, which was quite a height for me. Apart from that, the sea was also very deep. Anyway, we made our payments on Friday, and then on Saturday, 23-Nov-2024, we reached campus in the morning. We were given a time of 8, but because students are always late, we left the campus by 8:20, and since the journey was quite long, we had a lot of fun on the way. The entire journey to Mubarak Village took about 2 hours because we first had to go to Mubarak Village, and from there, we had to take a boat to Charna Island. We reached there around 10, where we were given life jackets and had photos taken near the boat. Professionals gave us all the instructions, and by 10:30, we got on the boat and headed for Charna Island. Since that route was also quite long, we reached the fixed island around 12. But the boat ride itself was a different kind of fun. A total of 3 boats went, each carrying 20 students.

The real story began at 12 when we reached the island because there was just the sea and a mountain-shaped island. Now we had to jump into the deep, very deep water from the boat, which might have been the main task for everyone. We were floating on the surface only because of life jackets; otherwise, no one was a swimmer. There was also the fear of what would happen if the life jacket slipped off, what if we drowned? But since we had come so far just to get into the water, we had to do it. The instructors there were pushing everyone into the water one by one, and there was a lifeguard below who was teaching everyone how to balance. For me, this was a task in itself because the boat was also a bit high, and I was really scared. Anyway, I was the first in my group to jump from the boat because I was experiencing this for the first time in my life. I had no idea about anything. I came to the surface after jumping, but I couldn’t balance myself. My legs were coming up again and again. The instructor explained to me to paddle my feet, and it wouldn’t happen, so within just 5 minutes, I managed to balance myself, and I also became free. All the fear was gone.

A blurry image of me jumping into the blue. It's a video I took the screen-shot that's why it's blurry

Ropes were also placed for support. Initially, I reached the cliff with the help of a rope because I had to go diving, which was really fun. But the funniest scene was when I couldn't balance myself after jumping from the boat. At that time, I didn’t understand anything, and I didn’t even know who I grabbed to balance myself, but anyway, I did it. We haven’t received the remaining pictures and videos yet, so I am waiting for that. In the next post, I will tell you about cliff diving and my overall experience. For now, this is it; otherwise, the post will become very long because there is a lot to share.
