Weekly Report - CR for Argentina

This are the highlights of my contributions to Steemit platform and what I've been working on during this past week, that went from November 29st till December 6th.

It has been a great week... a very hard working one, with lots of work to do and a lot of tasks correctly achieved, so I'm pretty happy about it! :)

The highlights of my work are:

  • Writing & Reviews community
  • Steem Argentina
  • Curation with Steemcurator05
  • Other posts and voting index

Writing & Reviews Community

Growth

Ever since we created this community with @belenguerra, we have been really successful, we kept coming up with new ideas to make users engage more and share good quality content. By now, we keep on growing at a very fast pace of more or less 100/150 users per week.

We get to see that our subscribers are really happy to be part of our community and feel really welcomed and appreciated, which means a lot to us. We work as much as we can to keep those feelings alive and to welcome anyone who feels like joining the W&R community.

We currently currently have 8.198 subscribers with 201 active posters. This means a 2% increase regarding last week, which is represented by 104 new users. We're growing at a fastest pace than ever, which is represented by how welcome and how hard we work towards making everyone feel part of it.

User verification

As well as that, and since we're planning on growing as much as we can, we asked for some feedback on how we can improve this community. As a result, we launched the user verification so that we're sure that no fake accounts are participating here. So far, we presented the third report in which 438 users were verified and we expect numbers to grow highly in the next days.

This is our eight report on this:

Delegations Program

As well as that, our Delegation Program is still up and running, and has had a great acceptance. We have increased the number of votes that we've given from the community account.

This past week, I've been in charge of the second rewards distribution of this program. Our delegations increased in about in almost 2500 SP, which tells how welcomed this program has been! Our community account now has more than 15K SP to provide with votes to our fellow writers.

This report is the last reward distribution we have performed:

Promoted posts

This past week, I've been in charge of choosing the posts that were part of the Communities Support Program and those that we presented to get Booming's support. Report on this is probably going to be posted tomorrow!

Although our huge efforts to try to support users as much as we can, sometimes it gets pretty hard to provide with more support to encourage them.

I'm also in charge this week of picking up the posts that will be sponsored as Top Picks. We aim to encourage our users to participate as much as they can on our community, and of course, we love to support good and high quality content.

Fighting against plagiarism

We have had a number of plagiarized posts lately, so we've endured our fight against all this type of actions.

Our protocol against plagiarism is simple and easy:
Every post gets checked. What happens if we find someone stealing content?

  • First warning: We mute that post and we let the user know that we won't tolerate that kind of attitudes. We keep score of these users and, if they have already their user verified, we also warn them that they will get their tag removed if that happens again.

  • Second warning: This is the final warning. We give no other opportunity to those who choose to perform this kind of actions over and over again. We mute the post and leave a comment, in which we specify that it's the second time we found these immoral activities and that we will no longer support their posts. Also, we put a "Bad Habits ❌" tag, so that it shows that the user has been performing poorly in our community.

This is the third report of offenders, with all new cases that we've had:

Also, due to STEEM being quite bullish lately, we have seen a growth in the number of users that plagiarize or steal content and spun it. That meant a huge work from our side to check that these people do not get supported. We're working on a post related to all those activities and attitudes that we won't tolerate in Writing & Reviews.

Weekly Contests

As a way of creating more quality content to our community, we're currently running two contests per week. We're sticking with the flash contests, as we found out that users really feel like being part of contest that are shorter and with easier tasks to perform.

Curation with @writingnreviews

We also use our Community account to support and vote our fellow writers. We check that there's no plagiarism involved and we try to support and encourage everyone to keep performing their best at our community. Here's the voting index for Writing & Reviews community account.

Steem Argentina

As well as in Writing & Reviews, I voted as many users as I could to encourage them posting there. We have finally reached the 620 users, which makes us really happy. It takes a lot more time to grow this community, as many people believe that we're only accepting Argentinians and that's completelly the opposite of what we're doing:

Also, I've been browsing different tags related to Argentina to check if there's any argentinian that might want to join but doesn't know about the community so far! As well as this, I've also been inviting newcomers so that they feel welcomed by us too!

Also, as a way to encourage people to be part of our community, we had launch new contests on a weekly basis. I have posted this week's contest winners:

Curation with Steemcurator05

I'm part of the team that curates The Diary Game posts with steemcurator05. We are now in charge of voting one day per week for each CR and we aim to reach from 40 users per day, voting up to 25% per user. We believe this is a great way to keep users motivated and to engage with the platform, specially for those who have been dormant for quite some time or that are not that aware of all the game we have here in Steemit.

Also, before voting, we now check if users are part of Club5050, in order to support those that have been powering up consistently.

You can check out my curation report here:

Other posts and voting index

Here are other posts that I've done this week. I plan on start posting twice per day at least, so that requires a bit more planification and effort, but will be worth it :)

This is my attempt of not only posting reports and stuff like that, I also plan to post creative content, but it's discouraging sometimes that there's little support to written posts and not just posts with hundreds of pictures. Writing takes a lot more time than creating posts like that.

As I've said, I've been trying to vote and support as many users as I could in these communities.
