Google Firestore migrated to MySQL - SteemPro
5 comments
Hello Steem Developers,
For the past few weeks, I have been working on database migration. SteemPro uses Google Firestore for managing post views and announcements.
During testing, @steemchiller discovered that the announcement section and post views data were not loading due to the uMatrix web extension filtering Google services. This highlighted a specific use case for users with uMatrix.
I decided to migrate the Firestore to a self-hosted MySQL database. After some time and study, I made the API requests secure and reliable, and the changes are now live. Post views are saved in the MySQL database, and the README file has been updated with instructions for implementing the new changes.
