Introduction

Sometimes, we have plans as humans and try as much as possible to work towards achieving these goals. And sometimes, you realise that the effort geared towards achieving the goals wasn't right or enough. At that point, you will feel sad, discouraged and then regret will come in.
What a world? But there's nothing we can do. These things happen. We just need to count our blessings and lose and move on.

Thank you for this topic @ruthjoe it's really a time to look back and count our blessings and loses, then make a quick amends before the year runs out.

How many of your goals this year have you been able to achieve? Tell us about it.

Well, I had a few goals for this year. They weren't much as it is contained here

  • Starting my little mushroom farming
  • To further my education
  • Attain success on steemit

The first one, starting a mushroom farm, was achieved because I needed to get another source of income. I even made savings towards that.

The second one, furthering my education, wasn't achieved. Things changed, and not as planned. The economy of the country changed drastically, lifting my feet off balance. I had expected that it might be a bit difficult, but not as it is today. That's why I couldn't achieve that.

The third one. It was just a wish and not a goal anyway. It was from other people's testimonials here on steemit that motivated me to say "I must achieve success here." Have achieved that? Yes, I have. Honestly, it's isn't my making but God helped me. I had achieved 1000 Sp, but took some to take care of my health sometimes ago this year. And not just that, I am a moderator on this "hallowed" community, Steem4Nigeria with the help of a saviour in human form whom I'm eternally grateful to.

Are there other things you wanted to do this year but was not able to do them? What are they?

No, rather, I achieved something I never planned. I bought a new phone from my savings, one of the reasons I couldn't achieve in full my mushroom stands as planned. There's isn't any regret because the phone is helping me engage well on steemit.

What is your biggest regret so far this year?

I wouldn't say I have any regrets this year. If there's any, it's about my mushroom farm. I needed to construct more stands for the substrates, but I postponed it saying there was no cash. I just can't make the stands again because things have become more expensive than I thought. So I regret that I didn't make it when I should as it has affected the yield of the mushrooms.

Mistakes are bound to happen, tell us some mistakes you made this year and the lessons you learnt.

From my regret, that's not making the mushrooms stands. It was a big mistake I made, considering that the money wasn't enough. That was bad. I had cash, but it was simply not enough.

My lesson from the mistake is that we should always act fast. Don't procrastinate. "Hold the bull by the horns" as they usually say. The opportunity may not avail itself again. So, whenever opportunity avails itself, or if you have something doing at hand, do it immediately, you'll be happy you did. You shouldn't postpone it. Nigeria keeps getting tougher. There is no need to procrastinate.
