Welcome to my new post. How are you all? Hope everyone is doing well. I am doing great by the grace of God. Today I am here to share a travel story. So let’s start with the post.
The Journey Begins…
Excited to start our trip
This is a story of when I traveled to Nashik, Maharashtra. The plan was made by my cousin, Adrian. Since he was visiting home from his ship, he had many plans to spend as much time with all his family and friends. It had already been some time since we were thinking about which place we should visit. Finally, we decided to go to Nashik and visit the Sula Vineyard.
Me and my cousin
Sula Vineyards located in Nashik is a winery which was founded in 1999. Accompanying me to this trip were my cousin and one of his friends Grisha. Both of them stay in the same area which is very far from where I stay. So the plan was that I would board the train from the main station, and they would board it from the station close to their homes. We had booked a train from Ahmedabad to Mumbai, to be precise Dadar. And then from CST (Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus) [ a station in Mumbai ] to Nashik. We departed from Ahmedabad at 22:50 and arrived in Dadar the next morning at 6:15. We carried some cards to play with during the journey and also played some games on our phones. It was a 7 hours and 25 minutes journey.
Enjoying some tea and biscuits
We reached Dadar in the morning and had tea and biscuits at the station. Our next train was at 8:25 a.m. to Nashik, so we had to wait for a while at the station. We reached Nashik at around quarter to twelve. It was already very sunny outside by the time we reached. So we quickly arrived at our hotel, and the first thing we did was order some lunch because we were starving. After we were done with lunch, we all got ready and headed out to leave for the Vineyard.
Deciding what to have for lunch
We were visiting on a Friday afternoon, so the entry fee was 600 Rs, which is around 34.2 Steem. If it was a weekend, it would be 1000 Rs (57 Steem). We bought the entry tickets and then entered the vineyard. There were a lot of things to see. There was also going to be a wine tasting tour, which was part of the fees that we paid for the entry.
Finally at Sula Vineyards
Some picture perfect moments
Fridge Magnets
The entire vineyard was very picturesque. We found so many spots where we took pictures and videos. The wine tasting tour was taking place in batches so we had to wait for our turn. In the meanwhile we went to the gift store and bought some souvenirs for our loved ones. I also bought some fridge magnets.
Soon it was time for the tasting part of the tour. The instructor instructed us all to stand at our tables and listen to the instructions he was giving us. He was telling us all the steps that are followed in the wine tasting. First we had to see the color and its clarity. Second, we had to swirl it around so that the aroma could be released. Third, we had to sniff it. Fourth was to take a small sip and allow it to be on our palate. And the final fifth step was to savor it. I couldn’t figure out all of the details and tastes, but out of the 6 flavors we tasted, I liked 3 of them (especially the ones that were smooth and sweet).
Swirl, sniff, and taste
Enjoying the beautiful view
After we were done with the wine tasting, it was time for the tour of the wine distillation process. They showed us from scratch how the wine is made. The process included steps from harvesting the grapes to bottling the wine in the end. It was really an informative tour. We even saw the wine cellar where they keep the wine for maturing. It could last as long as years or even some months. It depends on the type of wine they are making.
The view
When we were done with the tour we just strolled around the vineyard and took some photos and videos. Soon it was turning dark so we then decided to leave for the hotel. The distance from the city to the vineyard was about 32 minutes. We reached the hotel and then had our dinner and went off to sleep.
That’s all from my side today. I will be back with the post of the 2nd day of this trip. Until then Bye 👋 take care and stay healthy. Don’t forget to share your feedback and thoughts on this post.
