Beans is one of those legume that is so nutritious to the body. Most beans has 20-25% protein and also contains over 70% of carbohydrate. Most people do mistake it to be food with enough protein but not all beans are proteinous. Beans are also a good source of fibers, so you need it in your meal plan.

Soybeans is very nutritious and is good for people of all age depending on how you prepare it.

In Nigeria, we have different types of beans and we eat majority of this type although we have different ways of preparing them for a pleasant taste.

Some types of beans I've eaten

  • Oloka beans (Nigeria local beans)
  • Honey beans
  • Black-Eyed Peas
  • Soybeans
  • Kidney Beans
  • Pinto Beans
  • Black Beans
  • Brown beans
  • Lima beans

I've eaten all this type of beans and I don't think I dislike any, I like them all because they are really delicious.

Oloka beans usually take time to soft, it is the most strong beans I've even eaten therefore, it needs more time to cook for it to be soft enough to swallow.

It has a very sweet taste and a nice flavour to cook it I prepared some ingredients below 👇

  • Fish
  • Crayfish
  • Pepper

  • Fresh tomato
  • Chicken stock

It was really delicious and my family appreciate this recipe so much and they enjoyed the meal. We ate ours like that because we already had ripe plantain in it.
