In sandy lands of power and wealth,
A Kingdom rose, where oil did yield its health.
From desert sands to global stage,
A nation's influence, swift and engaged.

Yet, with this rise, a tale unfolds,
Of bloodshed, pain, and lives that grow cold.
In 2007, a film took flight,
To critique the war, and shine a light.

"The Kingdom" came, with all its might,
To question US policy, day and night.
But critics panned, the audience stayed away,
A commercial failure, in their dismay.

The plot unfolds, with FBI on the case,
In Saudi Arabia, a massacre, a disgrace.
A team led by Fleury, brave and true,
Faced obstacles, but their mission, they pursued.

A collaboration, with Saudi Police born,
A partnership, forged, to right the wrongs deplored.
Ashraf Barhom, shone bright and bold,
A moral cop, with a tale to unfold.

Yet, the film's attempt, was met with flaws,
A schizophrenic script, that left us dazed and raw.
From action-packed scenes, to political drama,
A mix that left us confused, like a dissonant symphony.

The final act, an action-filled display,
Believable not, yet entertaining in its way.
A symbolic end, a call to reflect,
On the truths revealed, and the stories left.

The Kingdom, a film, with mixed reviews,
A commercial failure, yet with truths to glean and use.
A reflection of a time, of war and strife,
And the complexities of life.
