The entire square is transformed into a large Christmas market. The stalls that are set up sell everything from wool socks to cheeses, as well as local specialties. The exhibitors are mostly local, but some also come from other surrounding towns. When the market opens on November 30, it helps getting into the Christmas spirit.
In recent years, the town hall has had its own exhibition of decorated Christmas trees. You can get the story about the origin of the Christmas tree and how they were decorated. Quite interesting. I was there a few years ago. The exhibition is free, but since it's in the town hall, it is only open during the day.
Something that has also become a tradition every year is the light show that is shown on the cathedral. Every evening at six o'clock it starts. Even it only last 15 minutes is worth going into town to see. Usually I come a little early. Then I have time to check the stalls or just do some last minutes shopping. It's a good way to get into the Christmas spirit.
Wish you all a Merry Christmas! Thank you for this year @stef1 @kiwiscanfly @shohana1
