Sometimes Life MAKES You Sit Down!

denmarkguy -

Whereas I periodically like to schedule deliberate technology breaks, my recent absence has not been entirely voluntary!

Sadly, the cold or flu I managed to pick up at the last arts and crafts event I was a vendor at has hung around a lot longer than I had hoped for.

I have resigned myself to the fact that it may simply be the Universe telling me that it's time for me to sit down and take it easy for a while! Stated a little differently, sometimes prolonged stress and work weakens our immune systems.

I feel like I am definitely on the mend now, which leaves me facing the inevitable pile of stuff that needs to get done because it hasn't been touched for about 5 days!

Everything in life seems to come with its own price.

I have always been a fairly healthy individual. However, I have to admit that I am sometimes starting to show my age. For example, something like this recent illness is showing me that it takes me a little longer than it used to to recover from things.

Whereas I have no particular fear of aging and getting old, I can't say that I am looking forward to the attendant aches and pains many of my older family members have complained about.

But such is life! Not gonna fight it...

The truth of the matter is that I do live a life — at least in recent years — where the work/play balance is somewhat out of whack. Not a lot I can really do about it... I have just not been able to keep up with the cost of living through a "normal" length workday.

But enough about that! Alarming as it might feel sometimes, it's just a part of life in the USA for many people in 2024.

Next week is Thanksgiving here in the US, and even though I did not grow up with this holiday in Denmark, I have always enjoyed it... both the cornucopia of great food, as well as the moments to reflect with gratitude on what we have. And most of the time, there are many things to be grateful for!

Of course, as someone with online businesses, this can also be the busy season. I am hopeful for that!

For the moment, I am simply grateful that the stormy weather has not knocked out the electricity!

A bit of a disjointed post today... I blame the cold I'm getting over!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!
